dynuaudio c-1s in a small 10x12 room?/amppower?
Ben77059, do not count me to the "consensus". I wrote (see above) that my room measures 12 x 16,7 and I'm quite pleased with the sound of C1s.
dynuaudio c-1s in a small 10x12 room?/amppower?
In your case - C1s in a small room - there would be a problem, because they require placement away from the walls, especially from the back wall, because they have a rear bass-reflex port (I can afford this in my room, which measures 12 x 16,7). T...
Plinius Int 9200 or McIntosh 6600 for Dynaudio C1
I drive my C1s with Rortel RB990. I am the guy of the old school considering there is better more power for bigger dynamic. Plinius and McIntosh has the same power output, McIntosh has lower THD. McIntosh enjoys biger reputation. What are prices o...
How important is the tonearm?
When I upgraded tonearm from Rega RB250 to Kuzma Stogi Reference I heard a substantial sound improvement. When I replaced Benz ACE H with Benz LP the same happened. Now I am waiting Benz Lukaschek PP-1 to replace Pro-ject Phono Box SE II. I am exp...
B&W 805 Diamond or Dynaudio C1 ??
Let me mention one visibly difference between these two speakers - the C1 has the rear bass-reflex port, while 805 has front port. That means, that C1 can not be placed (too) close to the rear wall.P.S. I am satisfied owner of the C1s and I have n...
Tips for buying used Vinyl needed
I agree with Bdgregory that the look (and the smell) of the cover is irrelevant to the quality of the sound to be heard from the record. Even if the record is dirty (dust, finger prints, etc.) it is not tragic (it should be washed thoroughly). Ess...

How close to the real thing?
Live-versus-recorded listening tests give the answer in a way. In well controlled tests people are hard to hear the difference.http://seanolive.blogspot.com/2010/07/why-live-versus-recorded-listening
I want to know if the kuzma stabi s with stogi s
I know Stabi/Stogi S and it is very fine turntable. In your system it would sound well. However, speaking generally, its rank (it is entry model of Kuzma's turntables) is somewhat lower than the quality of your equipment. You may upgrade Stabi S w...
sand versus shot in speaker stands
Some years ago I read an article/review in an audio journal, which claimed (on the basis of mesurements) that iron/steel filings are the best filling for speakers stands. I beleived them and filled my stands with them.

P.S. Regarding some measurements, steel filings are the best filler for speaker stands.

There is an golden rule: "The ideal height of the loudspeaker and speaker stand should place the tweeter at ear level when you are seated in a listening position" (taken from: http://www.plateaucorp.com/5keys.htm). So, take measuring tape in hand.
Turntable Problems...Upgrade from Benz, Funk to???
Britishmuzik, there are many posts claiming that phono preamp has a considerable influence on sound. By my opinion, the quality of cartridge is more weighty. I can not suggest a certain brand/type of cartridge to you, because my own experience was...
Cartridge recommendation
My previous turntable was RP3 vith RB300. I had started with Denon DL-110, then upgraded with Benz Micro ACE H.
Turntable Problems...Upgrade from Benz, Funk to???
Do you mean Benz MC20E II ? It gives 2,2 mV output voltage. Your phono-pre enables the connection of both types of cartidges (MM/MC-high output and MC-low output). My suggestion would be better cartridge (and more powerful amp later on).
