Favorite music Jazdoc, I considered "Le Noise", I'm a fan of both Neil Young and Daniel Lanois. Granted I did not hear it properly but sample tracks at AMG and Amazon did not inspire me to buy.A search for the LP turned up amazingly steep prices and I forgot abo...
Favorite music Thanks Bjesien,I don't think mentioned here but Daniel Lanois is also part of Peter Gabriel "So" and Harold Budd and Brian Eno ambient music such as "Pearl" from back in 1984.http://www.allmusic.com/album/the-pearl-r799612Daniel also produced and ...
Why We Need Audiophiles ? I read the story, thank you. A respectful article about Mike Fremer from a writer who is not an audiophile but now understands the passion.
RIP Lee Weiland Oh my gosh. I bought one of the top line USB cables from Lee in May and I remember him saying he had been sick. I did not expect this.My heart goes out his to friends and family, too young and too nice a person for this to have happened to.
I NEED a tone control to control bass. I just looked at Ebay, found an ADC equalizer that so far is only bid up to $19.00. Also a Pioneer with less than half a day to go, needs a $20.00 bid. I have no idea about quality of these but at this price you could experiment in your system, in...
High end speakers without bi-wiring? Rrog wrote exactly what I was going to post. It depends on the speaker design.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz This too is a departure for Miles, teaming up with Marcus Miller and is one of my favorites in Contemporary, Fusion Jazz. Lost In Madrid Part II Hard to believe it's been 25 years now.
Backing Up My Ex HD Problems.... Is it possible your WD library has multiple copies filling up the space? You can always format the WD and begin again.
The Evolution of Modern Jazz Albertporter, I broke my own rule for this thread; "Why say it with words when you can say it with music". I give you "Speak Low" from "Sonny's Crib".Recently received my double 45RPM Music Matters version of this album. Wonderful !
The Evolution of Modern Jazz This is one of the best, a hard bob favorite recorded back in 1958. The whole album is fantastic musically and the recording is stunning on the original, the the Classic Records four disc 45 RPM and The Music Matters Jazz release on 45 RPM (two di...
Isolation transformer Xti16, a very interesting post and perspective of isolation transformers that most people don't even consider. I appreciate your input even though I am not in the market.
Which DFG do you use? The Winds from Japan is the best I've used. I have the one that measures 1/100th of a gram and it repeats perfectly unless you're breathing on it.Unfortunately it is no longer available, or at least not that I can find.
Favorite music Jazdoc, That album was my first experience with Daniel Lanois, I missed him on "The Band," not being a fan of their sound. Richard Vandersteen gets credit for introducing Robbie Robertson and "Somewhere Down The Crazy River" to me. It was one of h...
Favorite music I bought a second copy of Black Dub at Amazon for $13.95. That's two 180 gram LPs plus MP3 download with free shipping.I paid double at Acoustic Sounds after shipping for my current copy. Also bought Allison Krauss "Paper Airplane," good album and...
Is preamp remote volume a deal breaker for you? I owned Aesthetix Io and Callisto for nearly a decade before Jim perfected the remote. I was happy the whole time, you get accustomed to it either way.I suggest you concentrate on sound quality and if the preamp has remote, that's great. |
