Silver DIY Interconnects
I would only add that I was not the person who contacted Sean outside of these threads. I always voice my opinions in the open and based solely on my experience. As to audio cable, there are many things that lie beyond explanation or the ability t...
Anybody stop using power conditioning?
Capeguy, I have no protection. It does worry me, especially during those electrical storms that Texas and Oklahoma are famous for. When the weather turns really ugly, I simply do not play my stereo. Sometime I get so paranoid I unplug the main comp...
Anybody stop using power conditioning?
I don't doubt your position Stehno, it's just that in my system every conditioner applied to my main (two channel) gear made the music worse. It would be senseless to continue to use a product based solely on theory. As already stated, a one time e...
High End Equipment Security and Insurance???
I suggest buying speakers so large that the thieves tip them, killing themselves in the process.
Video & Audio: Power, Ground, EMI, Noise in Cables
I have not followed the links provided, but thank you for the wealth of information. That required considerable work and there are many who will benefit.
Anybody stop using power conditioning?
I have removed all except one device, It is used to keep the DSS receiver, VPI record cleaner and Dolby Processor from interfering with my two channel. This conditioner has four switches on the front panel that cut power to the four devices protec...
Rock Lyrics - Best Reference to Other Rock Group
The Beatles (Harrison I think) "Elmore James got nothin' on this babe."
How does Sony DVP-S9000ES compare to other Sony's?
Ed, that might be the most fair handed and unbiased assessment of Sony players I have ever read. I had a Sony XA777es here to compare with my 9000 es and our test went pretty much like yours. I will say that the deep bass was better on the 777 and...

Make sense Marakanetz. I think most of us hear the changes but don't understand why. I think between Sean and you and I, we've discussed most of them.

Marakenetz, my reply was directed at the comments by Sean. However, even if your electronics are left on 24 hours a day, UNTIL music passes through all the capacitors, interconnects, speaker cables and connectors (and don't forget phono cartridge ...

Regardless of the individual drivers, the caps, wire, inductors and all the interconnect cable benefit from a little music passing through them.I have owned many cone speaker systems and they always improved with signal. Anywhere from forty five m...
"Parts upgrade" on crossovers -Any experiences?
Unsound, Liquid Nails is a brand name, and implies that it holds like steel nails do, but it's simply a thick liquid glue. Reminds me a bit of Weldwood contact cement the way it sticks (and smells), but it can be applied much like GE Silicone from...
Audio Aero Mark II--using balanced and unbalanced
Mejames, the Wolcott and VTL are both single ended products with balanced input jacks serving as built in adaptors. There is no circuitry, just a jumper that leads over to the RCA (single ended) circuit.I spoke to Wolcott about this a few hours ag...

Agree with all the above and add that your source, interconnects and especially your speakers benefit from the warm up period as well.
Radiohead -Hail to the Theif
I hope they press LP's of this new release. The double 10" LP's of "Kid A" and "Amnesiac" are some of the most amazingly recorded rock of the last few years. I don't know how the CD sounds, but on my system the vinyl is absolutely scary in places.
