RCA cleaners
Matt, the ones you describe The plastic is harder than I remember in the original cleaners. So, if I had to guess, I suspect the cleaner and dirt won't stick to them as they stuck to the originalThese (slicker), more recent plastic versions are th...
breaking in audio components
It depends on the equipment. Speakers such as Dynaudio Temptations, Dali Megalines, Kharma Exquisite and Sound Lab Ultimates all go through big changes with break in. Electronics vary by brand and design as do cables.
Which would you choose to isolate your turntable?
A friend and visitor to my music group just purchased the MinusK. It was a significant improvement over his Vibraplane. What I noticed was a blacker background (less apparent noise) and tighter, deeper bass. He was not unhappy with the Vibraplane'...
IEC to a 2 prong-wire amp
I use a Volt Ohm Meter and select continuity. Putting one lead on your power cords AC plug end and the other inside it's female IEC, you get a "beep" when you match up both ends. Make note of what goes where.Next test your household wall outlets. ...

Review: Aesthetix Callisto Signature and the KT-66 Tube preamp
I used the GEC KT66 and loved what they did for textures, warmth and midrange magic. They sound very slightly compressed but incredibly emotional, especially on female vocals and jazz.Bandwidth wise they are not as accurate as genuine Mullard Xf2 ...

Remastered My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
Armstrod, I have the original, did not know about the remastered version. I laugh my head off every time I hear the "Jezebel Spirit" cut. (Very well, you are possessed.)Let me know if you go for the new version and how it sounds.
how can a line cord affect frequency response ?
I can offer one explanation. You have an open mind, experiment and listen for changes in your system. That puts you way ahead of the naysayers at this site who believe NOTHING of this sort can be detected by the human ear :^).
