Reused Item Photos. Misleading? Marty,You forgot to include "but I digress" somewhere in the middle of your description. In case you didn't know, that's a sure fire way to show you're a clever writer.
Analog vs. digital segment on PBS Albert, do you think the typical CD "quality" we experience is due to the disc itself. I believe I hear a difference when I listen to CD-Rs from standard Redbook CDs using the EAC software, but it is not double blind. Any thoughts?Tgrisham In the ...

Analog vs. digital segment on PBS Thank you Tousana. What great information in that story. One of my good friends is a Grammy award winning classical musician, so I've been able to audition him live, versus digital, versus analog on several occasions.During a recent visit to his ho...
Analog vs. digital segment on PBS ShadornePerhaps the whole thing was faked and the band who claimed they could not tell were all paid to do so (or more likely the music was all from the good sounding analog). I think the test was performed exactly as portrayed on TV. Electroid t...
Analog vs. digital segment on PBS No one mentions that Pro Tools (the digital company) set up the test for PBS.Sure, digital can sound great at "master" level, I've been fortunate enough to hear direct digital masters against the same release on CD. LP is not perfect either, but L...
Grand Prix Monaco review in new Stereophile- OUCH Great post Sirspeedy. I was one of the people that wrote Mike a personal email, thanking him for contributing to Audiogon. It does not matter if I or others agree with the review, what's important is his position in the audio community and his will...
Grand Prix Monaco review in new Stereophile- OUCH Hey Ken, If you tell Mike Fremer about your cool '55 Chevy, maybe he would fly out and show you how to use the accelerometer.
Any dual mono phono stage or pre using 6DJ8 tubes? I owned the SA9 and SA 11 for many years. They were my "absolute" reference phono and line stage until the Aesthetix Io and Callisto came along (about 1998).Remember, the SA9 was designed about 1982-1983 and was produced in 1984 and beyond. Crazy ...
Favorite reviewer? Mine is Roy Gregory at Hi Fi+ I respect his command of the English language and his ability to express ideas clearly. He's also convincing in his excitement about product he likes.I don't have a least favorite. If I don't like someone's writing, I...
Poll.....what size is your room? Judging from the posts thus far, this group is blessed with some great listening rooms. Many are large enough to support almost any speaker made.
Any dual mono phono stage or pre using 6DJ8 tubes? I've owned a lot of tables but not the Sota. Unless there is something about the Sota that's unusual, there are dozens of arms and cartridge combinations that would work.Do you already have an arm and need a cartridge, or need both?
Front Row Text Size? I do not have Leopard yet.If no one answers your question this weekend, you can call Mac. Tech support is free because you bought the software. They will walk you through it.
Any dual mono phono stage or pre using 6DJ8 tubes? I wish you a full and speedy recovery from the car accident, health trumps high end audio components any day of the week.
Any dual mono phono stage or pre using 6DJ8 tubes? The Aesthetix Io uses two 6DJ8's among a host of other tubes, including 6SN7, 12AX7's and EL34's.The Io is fine with .1 MV cartridges, I've owned that combo. It should be better with .3 MV. |
