Is audio a kind of spiritual journey?
Well, yes i have those moments mostly with jazz, acoustic stuff, classical and a few rock bands. In my particular case, some of them are: Grateful Dead, CSNY, King Crimson, Mike Oldfield.
Is audio a kind of spiritual journey?
Exactly Electroslacker that is what I feel "but the moment when it all disappears seems spiritual."But is also true that sometimes you catch yourselves having those moments with one of your audiophiles friends stereo. I do not know why but we some...
Is audio a kind of spiritual journey?
No affiliation with mags or manufacturers at all here, just curious.By the way, cool story about how audio gear can mysteriously disappear.
Is audio a kind of spiritual journey?
Lol, but still, somehow, i believe that the search for good sound has something spiritual. Maybe it is related to what we feel when we listen to our stereos...
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
I found a website that produces ITs that has a documents explaining the advantages of this approach.http://www.sacthailand.com/Transformer_InterstageInfo.html
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
The thread has become really interesting!I also believe that specs are just a way to measure audio, but those measurements do not have a direct relation with how we humans perceive and process sounds. "So for the last 45 years or so the spec sheet...
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
Thanks a Atmasphere for his technical explanation of his experiences with transformers in amplifier design. And yes Charles1dad, I will have to listen for myself and compare.I have listened to some amplifiers that have ITs and I liked their sound. ...
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
Dave, thats a bigger truth, system energy affects everything and is the ultimate sound shaper. And yes, it would be nice to know what exactly are you looking for, but in reality (at least me) I know mostly what I do not like and what I could like....
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
Thanks for jumping in Dave with a real technical explanation. Could you help us here giving us an idea why interstage transformers when properly implemented add a kind of natural and openness to the sound?Alan
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
Regardless of the technical hows, that is the bottom line: it depends on the implementation.Maybe I could ask Bob Danielak to build a SET IT amplifier for me so I can compare for myself at home. Maybe one with the darling 1626, which by all accoun...
Tube amplifiers and interstage transformers
I agree with Charles1dad and Larryi, most of the best tube amplifiers I have heard have interstage transformers. And like I said before, some of the highly regarded ones also have interstage transformers. It looks like if you want your interstage ...
Active crossover advice for 1000hz biamp
Thanks Greg.Thats a very good advice I will do it. I was checking and you are talking about the behringer DCX, its the digital crossover. I was also reading and doesn't have so many bad comments. A lot of people is using them in their setups with ...
Active crossover advice for 1000hz biamp
Well, I had in mind two cut options. One was around 700hz just above the cut off of the horn(the compression driver only goes down to 500hz) and the other around 1100hz. I rather prefer the 1100hz since I think the 700 is too critical area to cut ...
Active crossover advice for 1000hz biamp
The speaker is custom made, so, there is no passive crossover. There are direct connections to the woofer and the horn. The compression driver is 109 db and the woofer is 99db. I was thinking of using an active one because I already have a good am...
