Looking for advise and recommendations on a nice record cleaner.
I’ve been using the AudioDesk Ultrasonic cleaner for over 10 years having owned the original model and now the Pro upgrade. Cleaned 2,000+ records. Whilst expensive, it’s proven to be the best investment in upgrading the sound quality of my system...
MC-MM-MI CARTRIDGES . DO YOU KNOW WHICH HAS BETTER QUALITY PERFORMANCE? REALLY?
Can someone please provide a glossary for MM/MI/IM/MF/HOMC & LOMC?
ribbons vs domes and sibilance
I had to Google what sibilance is as it sounds like a sexually transmitted disease that may kill you. A bad itch at best. That said, I own Martin Logan's with their fabulous ribbon tweeter and can attest to a lack of sibilance in how they reproduc...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
Empty flagon and the fact that you are relaxed play a big part of what you are experiencing. You've given your mind some time to de-stress and you are hearing the difference. Enjoy!
The molecular level explanation of "cable burn-in"
The dielectric in your equation is effectively an insulator and as such does not absorb current. One of the fundamental laws of electrical theory is that current takes the least path of resistance. In this case the copper. It's as simple and as co...

Company headquarters and warranty repairs
A DAC is mostly made up of semiconductors and solid state components. The likelihood of any failure is slim. If it's going to break, it will do so out of the box. The brands you have chosen are all good, so go with the one that sound the best to y...
Burn your power cables in PROPERLY with Haglabs Frycorder
@retiredfarmer I'm one of those cheapskates who invested 6 years of my time and lots of money gaining a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. As such, I know enough about electricity to not know that there is nothing worth trying here.
Help me pick some new or used speaker cables
@stealthdeburgo  Absolutely agree. Twin Flex, the same stuff that is in your walls should suffice. That said, if you buy second hand cable, do you need to 'break it in' again to hear the difference? asking for a friend :-)
Audio Desk Systeme - Vinyl Cleaner – Repair of Water Pump Failure
Also, I've been in dialogue with the local technical 'authority' on these units in Sydney who has ties to the manufacturer and he has told me that the newest revision of the Audiodeske Ultrasonic Cleaner will have an access portal to allow easy re...
Audio Desk Systeme - Vinyl Cleaner – Repair of Water Pump Failure
@decibell First and foremost, thank you for sharing your experience and confidence in ease of repairing what is a common problem. I purchased the Audiodeske on release and had the first replaced under warranty and the that one upgraded to the Pro ...

Should work but I find that the added agent (I'm simply using spin clean fluid now) particularly helps with removing build up mould on old records
