Thoughts wanted for new speaker design I think it depends on your target market. Over 3.5k for a standmount speaker is a tough pill to swallow for someone my age (mid twenties) who is just getting into audio or even as a second speaker. I like the style of your designs, very minimalist...
Directional cables - what does that really mean? I'll go with the asparagus on a whim, those are directional
Tidal WiFi not as good as cd If any of you have extra time on your hands I suggest you read though some of this thread. Search for the posts by "romaz" he is very well informed. https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/30376-a-novel-way-to-massively-improve-the-sq-of-compute...
Television technology - where are we? Apparently MicroLED is going to be the new thing - individual self emissive LED's. Of course it will be expensive when it hits mass market. Apparently its better than the OLED panels (brightness, wide color gamut) and has no burn in risk. https:/...
Balanced Tube Preamp Recommendations for $2000 So you could use one of the schiit Freya's inputs as a home theater bypass. Just set the amp to passive mode and turn the volume all the way up - that's what I do with my passive preamp. Just make sure to turn the volume down before switching inpu...
New Bluesound's Node 2i My guess is that its the wired input into the unit vs using the unit's wifi adapter which improves the sound. I would think there is electrical noise associated with the wifi module.
Best “end-game” system for streaming from iPhone with Ascend Sierra 2 speakers? I wouldn't suggest the marantz. It sounds like you're interested in pushing your components to their limit and a surround receiver just doesn't make sense in a 2 channel application. You have to first decide how you want your source to work; stream...
Opinions on Nuprime vs D-sonic vs Red Dragon vs Class D Audio Nice front end, I'll be interested to hear what you think of the tortuga vs the sys. I was using a sys before my current passive and was looking at the tortuga but ended up saving some money and going with the promitheus. Another cool passive wort...
New Bluesound's Node 2i In my case with the 2i, the wired connection sounded incredibly better than the wireless connection. If you have ethernet cable long enough to reach upstairs, it might be worth it to just run the cable on the floor to test the sound.
Hate to do this again. Start over. Class d Thumbs up for the red dragon s500, I think you’ll have to score a used one at this point though. Plenty of power and authority while neutral. Great instrument separation as well. Heard a lot of improvement with an after-market power cable which I ...
Phono Preamp Settings/Question - Help Please The input impedance of my power amp is 50kohms so I think that should be okay there given a 1:10 ratio even if the spec isn't listed on the musical fidelity. My passive is a TVC so that wont hurt impedance matching either.
Phono Preamp Settings/Question - Help Please My amp's sensitivity is 2.24v, however its a 500W amp and I've had plenty of success with 2v out from my dac directly driving my amp. I have kef ls50's which I believe are 85db sensitive.
Phono Preamp Settings/Question - Help Please Thanks for your input and the resource!
Phono Preamp Settings/Question - Help Please So presumably I would use the MC inputs, even though I have a MM cart, which would provide more gain without any loading issues because I can select 47k? Curious what the overload limit spec means.
Opinions on Nuprime vs D-sonic vs Red Dragon vs Class D Audio I've had a red dragon S500 in my system for about a year. The amp continues to amaze me. It plays with such authority and control while able to produce a nuanced and balanced sound. I've found the amp to pair well with my LS50's and my roommate's ... |
