Question about loading with an SUT
@mulveling I'm intrigued about the piccolo zero.  The Denon has a 14ohm internal impedance and the Apheta has a 10ohm internal impedance.  Is that low enough to work well with a transimpedance head amp?  The Hagerman does look like an absolute ste...
Question about loading with an SUT
@chipcalzone , I'm using a Declare Z3 phonostage. Thanks for all your responses. @atmasphere , this procedure is beyond my capabilities and leads me to consider a head amp.  In fact, many of the responses seem to be leading me in that direction. ...
Needing DAC Advice
Not a DAC recommendation but since you mention you like the idea of less is more, straight wire concept, have you considered an LDR passive preamp?  I have one from stereo coffee that I use with my Pass XA30.5 and I love it.  I was previously usin...
Tale of two turntables
thanks guys. I think I'm gonna take the plunge and try modding my denon.  There's a lot to like and I can only imagine it will get better.  @lewm thanks for the recommendation of the headshell, I think I'll try it!
Tale of two turntables
I've tried the Apheta on the Lenco.  It sounds good but I think it's better with the Rega arm.  I'm pretty happy with leaving the Apheta on the P3.  I realize it's kind of a mismatch in terms of having such a high end cart on such a lowly table bu...
exploring DACs
I think $2,500 is the upper limit of my budget.  Used would be best, though I am considering the ANK kit

Interesting experience with two very different speaker designs
@pfiche and @arafiq I think you are both right.  arafiq, I am definitely a beginner hobbyist and I was genuinely shocked that the speakers I made sounded as good as they do.  The other OB designs I made, though promising, had serious flaws.  I wou...
Interesting experience with two very different speaker designs
@pficheYes, that was my general assessment of the W8 Eminence 15 combo!  Great for drums guitar and vocals.  Bass energy could get a bit boomy even after I put them on spikes.  I agree about the dryness.  Its not the meatiest of midranges though i...
Small green computer sonic transport i5
I've had mine for 5 months now.  Great purchase.  Much more stable and better sound quality than using my iMac as a roon core.  I also use it with a uRendu
room treatment behind TV?
