Favorite version of Grateful Dead's Aiko Aiko?
Dick's Picks Vol. 9..... Madison Square Garden, Sept. 16, 1990 ..... disc #2, track #10. Awesome ten minute live version, from a concert shortly after Brent Mydland's passing away. Vince Welnick and Bruce Hornsby, with Jerry, Bobby and Phil all in...
What are
If you're into jazz, I've been very happy with the Blue Note re-issues. They average $12-15 each, and sound quite good. They're probably more for music lovers (like me) than for die hard audiophiles. They are not 180 gm. and not 45 RPM. Just norma...
Best TT for the buck?
Hey Orpheus10...... Thanks for the compliment. And the music sounds absolutely wonderful. I did something similar to PMB .... a 3/4" thick MDF board, sitting on eight Vibrapods, serving as an isolation base for my table. Nice !
Best TT for the buck?
Hey Hipho ...... Your news about buying the MMF-2.2 came up as I was typing my previous post. CONGRATULATIONS !! Enjoy your new set-up, and now have fun with your LP's.
Best TT for the buck?
I agree with Orpheus, as he agreed with me. The OP has a limited budget, and seems pretty excited about getting an analog front end. At this point, he (she ?) should be more concerned about a pretty easy entry into "the vinyl world," without havin...
best vocal harmonies in rock
Yup, it's been said before...... Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
Art Blakey, king of the drums.
Three Blind Mice....... not sure if it's my first place favorite, but it's a mighty fine record !
Best TT for the buck?
Rega RP-1, $445 brand new and all set up with an Ortofon cartridge, from Audio Advisor. Great entry level table, without any worries about the quality/reliability and/or shipping issues of a used table. Learn to love vinyl, then eventually upgrade...
Rogue Audio Cronus 12AU7-12AX7 tubes choices
I agree with Tpreaves.....Enjoy your new Cronus "as is" before you start rolling tubes. It sounds really, really good with the stock tubes. Then, once you have the desire to try new tubes, there are a lot of ways to go. For me, my Cronus, being fe...
Vinyl lovers I must be crazy
My first "high end system" consisted of a Yamaha receiver (forgot the model #, but it was the first year of their "digital" tuners), a Bang & Olufsen Beogram 3404 table, and Mission 717 speakers. I bought it all from Audio Breakthroughs on Lon...
Getting Into Analog-Vinyl For The First Time......
My condolences upon the loss of your father. My Dad passed away on January 19, and it's sometimes pretty tough for me to listen to his favorite records without him sitting by my side. But, ya' know what, his love of music is living on within me, a...
Do you leave your components on 24/7?
No... My system only takes about 15 minutes to fully "warm up" and sound right. And, even during those first 15 minutes, the music is still quite "listenable."
Vincent PHO-8? Jolida JD-9A,? Phono Pre's $350-500
For what it's worth, the built-in phono stage in my Rogue Audio Cronus gets along amazingly well with my Rega P3-24/Exact 2/TT-PSU analog front end. Wonderful music from my LP's.
Rega P3/24 Power Supply Connection Issues
The connection works perfectly well, even though it may seem tenuous. Once your table is positioned the way you want it, connect the TT-PSU, and you'll be fine. Then stop worrying about it, and simply enjoy your LP's. Happy Listening !
MM Cartridge or MC Cartridge
Hey Stanwal and Audiofeil.....In the interest of world peace and creating a better planet, can you guys please kiss and make up ? Let's all learn to play nicely together in the same sandbox.
