And something that is not at all laid back in the midrange as my speakers have a slight presence dip.

Ayre and Gamut out of my price range...My CD player is unreliable so a better integrated transport/DAC combo is my preference.
Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ???
I have a 3 year old Sony DVD player, NSH52P I think, cost $100 at the time. Has incredible timbres and a smooth analog sound. Not the deepest bass and rolled off on the treble, and it doesn't have the greatest detail or imaging, but the timbres ar...
Recommendations for rear speakers w/ PSB Synchrny2
In the past all I'd hear was a muffled sound from rears with occasional birds whistling. Although BluRay is able to produce much better rear sound than regular DVD...and sounds incredible with a properly recorded 5.1+ disc.
Naim CD5xs vs Bryston BCD1
Does the Naim DIN connection give advantages over RCA?
Naim CD5xs vs Bryston BCD1
The Naim factory has informed me the CD5xs is a significant step up on the CD5x, and with the external power supply it will be at the same level as the CDx2 (there is a CDx2s coming out soon)
Naim CD5xs vs Bryston BCD1
In my area the Ayre is quite a bit more expensive than the Naim and out of my range. ARC is not available here.I have a Simaudio I3RS amplifier, I wonder how the Naim would go with it...The other option is the Simaudio CD3.3 but I can't compare at...
Anybody heard/bought Usher Mini Dancer 1 or 2
I wonder if the MD-1 needs as much current as the Be718, which many reviews said needed at least 150W to sound their best
other speaker cable, what to buy
I am considering the SP4 myself.Do you find the sound full-bodied in the midrange
S/C: DH Labs Q10 vs Nordost Super Flatline
Due to my limited budget and unavailability of cheap Satori in my area, I have boiled it down to Q10 or Kimber 8TC. I am unable to demo either in my areaHas anyone tried the Kimber against the Q10Thanks
B&W 805s vs PSB Synchrony Two
Actually make sure they are thick cables...I have been tweaking cabling on my system. The Two's are low impedance speakers so they need thick speaker cabling. Really improves the lower midrange and bass body and richness. You can still probably go...
B&W 805s vs PSB Synchrony Two
I own the Synchrony Two's and have listened extensively to the 805s on various different amps. I was considering buying the 805s before the Two's were launched, however the overall cost is blown out by the need for a super powerful amp, and plus t...
S/C: DH Labs Q10 vs Nordost Super Flatline
Is the shotgun version of the Satori significantly better than the single ended version (which is half the price)?
PSB Synchrony One's or Legacy Classic HD's
Interesting discovery:I replaced my 14-gauge cable with old Monster AV cables I had that are much thicker. While I lost a lot of detail, it opened up the lower midrange and gives a lot more bass weight, and a much deeper soundstage. Effectively re...
