Have you ever used a separate speaker selector unit to audition speakers? Would you? I have been using an OSD ATM-7 for a couple of years, with its remote you can switch up to 7 pairs of speakers and 2 amps. Great for comparing speakers instantly from your listening position.
Passive Bookshelf Speaker Selection The Klipsch RP-600Ms or RP-150Ms are both great, not overly bright with great dynamics. I own them both plus RF-3 lls that are in your face bright in the Klipsch horn tradition.
stand-mount speakers for classical music Also forgot about NHT Classic 3 speakers. 3 way and excellent sound, if you can find a pair.
Best small, desktop speakers, $500 or under (new or used) That’s on the Zero.
Best small, desktop speakers, $500 or under (new or used) Vanatoo has “B” stock for $319, I believe shipping is free, just add state tax.
Bose 901 Series ii The new 901s sound much better, brutal lows, singing highs. Try to find a pair on Craigs list.
Bose 901's with "highend ancillaries"?? Owned 901 series lVs for years, when the surrounds went bad Bose replaced with Series Vl for shipping cost. Nothing I have owned sounds better or more exciting, just different. They have stood the test of time and all the audiophile horse hooey. I...
stand-mount speakers for classical music Forgot to say, the small Klipsch compare very well with my favorite classical music speakers Klipsch Quartets.
stand-mount speakers for classical music The very inexpensive Klipsch RP-150M are great with classical music from soft listening to loud. Haven't heard the RP-600M but I would guess they are at least as satisfying.
Ported versus sealed speakers: is one type better? It's all about engineering and design.
Best small, desktop speakers, $500 or under (new or used) Another vote for Vanatoo Transparent Zero, incredible speakers from a very responsive company. You must use their interconnect between speakers, it is NOT a regular ethernet cable. Excellent sound from a tiny set of speakers.
The best speaker you ever heard? Klipschorns! Too big and too expensive so, I just keep coming back to my very old but upgraded Klipsch Quartets. I have owned Martin Logan Sequel lls, AR-3s, JBL Decade 36s, Allison CD8s and CD9s, Klipsch Forte early version, Klipsch Heresy lls. A...
Can speakers be stored in a garage? I have stored speakers and amps in my unheated garage, low humidity, for years with no problem. You should be fine.
Klipsch Forte III--Pleasantly Surprised My Klipsch Quartets are still number one in my collection. I have installed titanium domes in tweet and midrange horns. Also added modified Klipsch E2 crossovers and more sound absorbing to the cabinets. I recently purchased a Klipsch RP-150M pair...
Best speakers out there for Midrange and Highs I have a pair of Martin Logan Frescos. They have folded ribbon midrange and tweeters. I really like the sound in the human vocal range. Crossovers are at 500 and 3200. Aluminum cone 4" from around 80 to 500. |
