Is it okay to talk around your speakers? Cables don't really burn like fire, they learn. See, the free electrons in the metalic structure, which exist in a cloud, and are not really attached to any specific proton, stabalise and begin to work together. When they all start pulling in the ...
Is it okay to talk around your speakers? hehehe! i did not really mean remember each note for note like a CD Recorder. I just wonder if there is something that can happen. For example, maybe the type of music played on new speakers sets up a general vibe forever. Like maybe it sets up a ...
Is it okay to talk around your speakers? It might sound dumber, but do speakers remember the music they play? There is a school of thought on this. For example, never play Rap or metal on a system that is used for jazz- it will be damaged forever. It will still play, but not as well. It ...
Solid State Power Amps That Sound Most Like Tubes? I think tube amps are known for EVEN order harmonics which sound GOOD or can't really be detected at all.For SS, stick with Hexfets that were designed for audio use and not just a stock transistor that can amplify.
Solid State Power Amps That Sound Most Like Tubes? I wish I could listen to more than 3 or 4 high end amps for an extended time to really know how they ALL sound. I try, but too many amps not enough budget. :)
Tube Preamp.. On or Off? I know this in an old topic, but even the owner's manual says to turn it all the way off (power supply too) if you are not going to use it in the next 24 hours.
upgrade tube for SF line 2 I just put new J-J 6922s in my SF Line2 preamp except one tube is an EH 6922, and now I get some low hz thump sounds in one channel. It is very low HZ - like a bass drum beat and only starts after i play for a few songs. Also, one channel plays al...
Best value amplifier under or near $6K Amps from Classe are an excellent value and challenge the best sounding amps costing far more. Most models can be found in great used condition for well under 6K.
time for a change....any suggestions? "something that throws a giant soundstage. i'd probably avoid the planars, electrostats, etc"Huh? Hard to get bigger soundstage than Soundlabs. The sound field is hugh! I'd go with Soundlabs, but dont know if your amps are upto it. If you can swin...
If I like ARC, okay with CJ, and run for SF.... Lostbears:"If you really like the sound of ARC, why not look for something from ARC?"I do think about ARC all the time, but there are not too many dealers near me and they have to order everything anyway- no floor samples for all models ect. Anywa...
If I like ARC, okay with CJ, and run for SF.... Opps, my first post should have said RUN FROM SF. Never did like the sound in any system I tried. But ARC is great and CJ is good too, but a little laid back for me.Camalk- I'm sure I can listen before I buy too see if they work find but not long ...
Large brass devices on top of power amps ? I wonder why someone would put an apple in every amp photo. What is the point there?
Classe DR-6 vs DR-6R difference ? I think the R did if fact mean remote and not reference. I did consider buying one when they were still in production but a casual AB with other preamps costing far less made the choice of the ARC LS3 very easy. imho.
Electrostat - M-L; Quad or Soundlab - reliable I have never heard of panels being replaced on a 7 year basis like tubes as stated by a previous poster - this sounds perposterous!! I had sound labs and never had a problem with the panels, but the power supplies did act up and fail, One speaker ...
Carver sonic holography Sonic Holography did work, but you had to set the speakers up just right and "sit with your head in a vice" to make it worth while. I doubt one could just hastly hook it up and flip it on and hear much improvement to the sound field. (I wonder if ... |
