Dynaudio Confidence C1 and Vivid V1.5 Doc77 - Please forgive the partial hijack of this thread. I am very interested in the Vapor Audio Cirrus. Would you mind sharing your system details, what kind of music you listen to, and whether or not you feel the Cirrus goes deep enough to do r...
Luxman-McIntosh CD Players I own an MCD500 and like it very much. I find it to be a touch warm and laid back, but with enough detail to give me what I want musically from the system. I have not heard the D-06, but FWIW, every piece of Luxman gear I have ever heard, and that...
Phono preamp under 1k new or used advice? I am very pleased with my Jolida JD9 phono stage. I got a mint used unit with level 1 mods that retailed for $1100 and cost me around $525. An excellent performer, especially for the money.
Decent DAC under $10k anyone? I do not know off hand if it meets the OP's criteria, but the new DAC from Acoustic Plan, especially when it is run through Acoustic Plan's optional separate power supply, is the cornerstone of the best digital front end I have ever heard. I heard...
Wouldyou have another brand speaker next to mains I did this in our home theater room. The home theater system started out as only that, but I quickly realized I could make it into a hybrid system for 2- channel. So I bought the additional 2-channel gear, sold the L-R fronts, added a pair of Veri...
Starting Over The Anthem 225 is an amazing integrated and costs around $1500 retail.
$2500 Phono Stage Suggestions 2nd the dead quiet Nagra BPS, which was a great match for me with the Ortofon 2M Black. I moved on to an Audio Research PH7 in that system for loading flexibility but I miss the Nagra's silence and it's incredibly small footprint. It is a superb p...
Sonus Faber Cremona vs. Cremona M again, I know Rgs92 - I traded up from the Auditor M to the GM and have never regretted the move. The GM is at least one step up compared to the Auditor M. Then I added a REL R-305 sub to that system - that was the perfect finishing touch.
Any experience with HRS Harmonic Resolution system I use a HRS platform under my Ayre-DPS turntable. I determined via audition that the sonic improvement provided by the HRS platform was worth the cost. YMMV, of course.
Help me w/ small towers-bedroom HT/music system For under $1500, Rega RS-3 new, or RS-5 used if you think your luck is due to improve on used speaker purchases. ;->
If your whole system costs $40,000.... Excluding speaker cables, ICs, and power conditioners et al, I have three systems that meet your criteria. For the CDP in each, the cost percentages are 8.2 %, 11.4 %, and 22.1 %. Figures are based on retail costs for new gear and what I actually ...
What would happen if Maggie and Wilson Mated? Conceptus Incompletus - hopefully.
DeVore Silverbacks Charles1dad - Thank you. I feel very fortunate to have the Solovox. You are right, the SBs are held in very high regard by many (most?), and I count myself amongst those who find them to be extremely musical. The ONLY reasons I parted with them be...
DeVore Silverbacks The room I had my Silverbacks in ("had" being the operative word as I now have a pair of Solovox in my primary system) was 14' x 25'. The SBs were positioned on the short wall and the listening spot was about 11' away. And they were fantastic posi...
Mark Levinson n°39 or dedicated DAC? Buy a dedicated DAC if you have a transport or digital source you like. I have a 390S that served me well enough until a transformer blew. Now it just sits in an attic closet because I do not want to deal with the hassle and obscene costs associat... |
