Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Thank you all for your responses. I have stumbled upon a couple of other options that I would love to get opinions in light of the other options.First is Conrad Johnson. It's either the premier eight or premier twelve that will meet my power needs...
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Thank you Raymonda. If I may, have you experienced any difficulties with tube life? I would be interested in trying the 120 just because of the price point. They are certainly easier to swallow used than shoveling out for a pair of mc275. I think ...
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 I am reading that rogues are hard on tubes. At their used price I might be willing to try them, but not if I will be retubing frequently.
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 I know that I seem to be the only one posting replies here, but I thought I would try to further clarify the "headphones" comment.I remember hearing a similar effect one time while at a private concert of Chris Issac. I was seated center stage not...
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 further impressions. there are 3 things that the gallos do better. the first is bass. the janszens do bass well, but I see why david recommends a 200w solid state amp. I wish there were a way to biwire the speakers. the bass has significantly more...
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 It is a real sound. I have been in venues where the sound did indeed envelope you in a way that the point source wasn't distinguishable. I can't explain it better. Yes I think it is a good thing.
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Oops. Spoke too soon. Ran out of gas with my 60w. The sound is glorious though, just won't reach 100db. Close though 98.9. Btw no I don't listen at those volumes, but I do listen at 90. At 90 there are peaks at the top of what the Sixpacs can do.
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 my janszen speakers arrived today and by what I am hearing this all may be a moot point. holy smokes these things are holographic. 94db spikes and I didn't even realize it was loud. we'll see how this continues to flesh out. thanks again for the i...
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 ok so first impressions. these are very different. much more focused with a smaller sweet spot both vertically and horizontally. The sound is unlike anything I have heard previously. mind you my room is small so that limits some of the acoustics. ...
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Thanks to all for the recommendations. On a couple of points. 1. I have a new Emotive Audio Sira all tube preamp that will never leave my system. Fred built it for me and it's probably the only bespoke piece of audio gear that I will ever own. It ...
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Just curious regarding the sound differences and if there were other recommendations to get 150w+ tube that is around 8-9 k
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 On the truck for delivery on Monday. I will post impressions once they arrive. I got a little holiday discount on them as well which was nice.
Mcintosh mc275 or rogue m150/180 Bojack...very good point. I have no intention of getting rid of the six pacs. I do however realize their limitations. As my current reference amp they precluded my purchase of a pristine pair of egglestonworks andra ii speakers. They are also a ba...
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 thank you again everyone for your feedback. it is through a dedicated community like this that makes it possible to wade through the endless possibilities in hifi. I am currently just watching the calendar until the speakers arrive.brad
Janszen za2.1 vs nola metro grand ref series2 Ordered a set from David today. I will certainly revisit this thread once I have a chance to listen. The waiting game now begins... |
