Core Audio Designs ....The Man, The Myth...The Legend - Arnold Marr Arnold…wonderful person and amazing artisan!
Audio Rack Opinions As I reflect on how fortunate I have been in this lifetime regarding family, friends, health, careers, and my journey in music appreciation and audio components, my experience getting to know Arnold Marr of Core Audio Designs ranks high on my li...
Roger Waters and Graham Nash on The Band. For some context, I’m hitting 70 (or is it hitting me?!) in October. I, like some others here, had the great fortune to see/hear some of the amazing bands of that time; Hendrix, Cream, Spirit, Electric Flag, etc., before the rigors of the music bu...
Audioquest Storm Series power cables I added Dragon power cords to my VAC 200iq’s and the difference was instantly startling! Sonic detritus that I wasn’t aware of was removed which afforded a quieter background and more natural/realistic sound, more space between instruments allowin...
Have you moved away from full range to standmount speakers + subs? I have a fairly small listening room (13'x12'x8') with French doors behind my listening position that open into a kitchen (19'x9'). For a few years I was using floor standers, Raidho D2.1, and though they sounded great on most music I played there...
Raidho D2.1 I heard the new Borresen speakers at RMAF 2018 and thought they sounded great (along with several other brands) but they did not trigger that well know audio related disease known as upgraditits. My more "modest" system continues to provide sonic ...
Raidho D2.1 Nice to hear you are still digging your Raidho's, George! At one point I was using a 70 watt stereo amp and while it brought that tube magic, at louder volume the amp would sometimes distort on certain low bass notes. I now use VAC 200iq mono ...
Raidho D2.1 Just a thought, if you haven't already, you might contact Raidho and let them know what your components are and see what they think. I have on more than one occasion reached out to them and they were very helpful. All the Best, Michael
Raidho D2.1 Are you able to hook D2.1's up to your components to see if they'll play nice together before you buy?
Raidho D2.1 Hello Musicairo = I've had D2.1's in my system for a couple of years and love them! If they are in excellent condition that seems like a reasonable asking price but bear in mind you can always bargain if you feel the seller is motivated. What are ...
If I'm looking for "Tube Sound", why would I put a Tube Pre in front of a SS amp? Currently pairing a Shindo Vosne-Romanee pre with a Viola Labs Symphony amp driving Raidho D2.1 speakers. Rich tonality, detail, layering, large sound stage, emotionally involving...very hard to shut it down and get to bed at a reasonable hour!
Speaker recommendation for Shindo D'Yquem amps (Vosnee-Romanee pre)... Thanks, asa, there's so much I should know that I don't already! BTW, has my fiance been venting to you?
JBL Everest DD67000 vs. Avantgarde Duo Mezzo Would it be hijacking this thread to ask for speaker recommendations with the Shindo D'Yquems/Vosne-Romanee combination? I had a pair of Devore O/96's. LOVELY tonality but I'm looking for more of a 3D presentation and larger soundstage. Thank you ...
JBL Everest DD67000 vs. Avantgarde Duo Mezzo Thank you all for the responses! Jim, is it possible to give you a call?
JBL Everest DD67000 vs. Avantgarde Duo Mezzo Regarding the Duo Mezzo's, would they be too much speaker for a 13x12x8 room? Would Shindo D'Yquems (18wpc) be a good match for them? Do they play all styles of music well, i.e., Americana rock, Afro-Cuban, Classical, acoustic Jazz? Thank you! |
