Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Uh, Kenny, in fact by mentioning that you didn’t mention anything about a patent or the Tekton design, you are indeed mentioning it. But you probably knew that. It seems that you have a fascination for Tekton, and that is fine, everybody needs a h...
Conrad Johnson Officially Transfers ownership
uh, right away, sir!
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
I don't have too much experience with 4 ohm speakers, but I would have thought that at a given volume level, a 4 ohm speaker would be louder than an 8 ohm speaker since the amp would be delivering more watts at 4 ohms.  And in this case, the sensi...
Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Mofo, no I'm not off the measurement kick.  If a company can't be trusted to give accurate specs to their products, than I wouldn't trust them period.  Send them your wallet if you want, they are not for me.  I am looking for an end game speaker, ...
Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Yep, presently I have Rainmakers, 3 different Tannoy models, and some Pioneer and Paradigm speakers.  None of them look as ugly as the Tekton box though.  But hey, whatever floats your boat I guess.
Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Mofojo, more insults from the cheap seats, at least come up with some good ones!   My critiques don't require ownership.  They are as ugly as sin.  They employ false advertising in the specs.  The cabinet's squarish design is resulting in expectin...
Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Those speakers are just plain ugly, at least Bose had some fashion sense.  And being off on the sensitivity by one or two db's is acceptable.  6 is false advertising.  And the design is also a squarish box with several strong resonance peaks, so s...
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
Whoops, I mean to say that the Tannoys are 88 sens to the Totem's 87.5.
Tekton Double Impact & Comb Filtering
Looks like Bose is making a comeback, except these new ones are uuuugly! On the sensitivity numbers,  Tekton is 6 db off the actual sensitivity., and they should be embarrassed by that.  A noisy square box with low budget drivers, what an awful des...
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
The Tannoy Precision 6.1 is 8 ohms.
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
I'm still enjoying the C375BEE and Schiit Bifrost Multibit.  I've acquired a few different pairs of speakers and the latest is a pair of Totem Rainmakers, which is a 4 ohm speaker.  I'm not sure why, but when I A/B a pair of Tannoys against the Ra...
Comparing Goldenear Aon 2 and Totem Rainmakers
I wanted to correction your comments on the bass.  I went to the Totem site, where to my surprise I found that the Arros actually go down to 40Hz vs the 42 of the Rainmakers.  You are correct sir!
Schiit Vidar.... Anyone heard one yet?
On Head Fi threads, the Vidar seems to have pleased the crowd.  Because it's an Internet Direct brand, not too many have tried it around here.  But any amp that can double it's wattage at 4 ohms has my attention.  Early returns are good, one owner...
Comparing Goldenear Aon 2 and Totem Rainmakers
After another session with the Sierra 1, the Rainmaker seems more clear with more focus. Also, the Sierras seemed a little louder though they are rated 85 to Totem’s 87.5 sensitivity. The Rainmaker top end seemed more accurate as well. I’ve got a ...
Comparing Goldenear Aon 2 and Totem Rainmakers
I've been searching for comments on the Rainmakers as I just picked up a pair and have been testing them out.  They haven't been broken in yet, and Totem strongly recommends about 100 hours of easy going.I would be skeptical of this, but a previou...
