Would you pay more than 25% of MSRP for a used cartridge? @clearthinker Why didn't you return your Anna if it wasn't a good match? I would think if you are buying new then that includes a no questions asked return policy. Even when I buy used I make sure the seller is ok with returns . It's always the d...
Would you pay more than 25% of MSRP for a used cartridge? @mulveling Thing is nobody pays MSRP. More like 80% MSRP is common. So your used cartridge with rebuild that came out to 80% of MSRP is the same as just buying new but without any warranty and a lot of risk and hassle.
Would you pay more than 25% of MSRP for a used cartridge? I would only consider upto 50% MSRP for used if: The cartridge is a current model and no more than 1 year old. I don't want some old thing sitting around for years. The seller was a retipper or had extensive feedback from selling similar kind ...
Tired of all the gimmicky pricing, i.e. $999.99 or $927 Yes it is a well known trick that ending in .99 deceives people into thinking something is cheaper than it actually is. But these studies are based on: 1) Item is cheap ( <$50 ) 2) Item is high volume like coffee or jeans 3) Buyers are unsop...
Avoiding Scammers - Both As Buyer & Seller I price things to sell and have never had any problem with scammers. In fact, I have often gotten much more on ebay than had I tried to sell locally. In fact some things will never sell locally but will command a high price on ebay. I’ve also had...
My list of seller red flags Of course many people can have second systems. I am talking about medium to high volume sellers where everything seems to be "gently used from a second system". Obviously that can't be the case .
My list of seller red flags And what's up with all these "second systems"? Sounds a little fishy to me.
My list of seller red flags I’m going to assume that you’re an audiophile who knows what this table is and what they are selling for on the used market. This is the kind of turntable that visitors will take one look and go, ’Wow!’ This is a thing of beauty. Not a table for ...
My list of seller red flags $1875 is still gimmicky because it has too many significant digits. Anything more than two is gimmicky. If you mean $1900, just say $1900. Low volume audio equipment with a niche market can not have such precise pricing. If I see a seller with suc...
My list of seller red flags If an item is priced to sell you will not have to deal with low-ballers because it will sell before they get a chance to even see your ad. That is why explicitly saying "Price is firm" is unnecessary. It just makes you look stubborn and will scare...
Stuck at home? Make a kit!! Any recommendation for a website to learn the basics of electronics?
My list of seller red flags As for price is firm, it signals someone difficult to deal with. It's the market that determines the price, not what you think it is worth. Once you start asking questions you often find out many things that can lower it's value.
My list of seller red flags Also on trades, how would you have any protection if the items is defective? That’s why Paypal exists. They are an escrow to safely hold funds till both parties are satisfied. To me trades reek of scam.
My list of seller red flags Regarding "no trades", we are not in the dark ages. Society has been using money now for a long time.. The chance of me having something you want is like one in a million. When people mention trades I think they are not serious about selling or ne...
My list of seller red flags Regarding negative feedback, I look at how the seller responds to it. If I see any defensiveness or belligerence I will pass. At least on Discogs you see that a lot. |
