Upsamplers and 24bit/96kHz DACs

Does anyone have any experience with the Assemblage products? Is the DAC 3.0 worth the increased price over the DAC 2.6? Any word on the up-sampler D2D-1, although it has not yet been generally released? How do these compare with other units, like the much less expensive Bel Canto DAC-1 or other similar units? How would these compare with the much more expesive units from dCS?

Carl, thank you for your recommendation of the Bel Canto, 1953, I enjoyed your entry under System Maatching on 24/96 upsampling (4/30). I am sorry that I missed it earlier.
I'm sorry, but I should also have included something on the MSB Link. With the upgrades, etc., all three (that is Assemblage D2D-2 and DAC 2.6, Bel Canto DAC-1, and MSB LINK) are in the roughly $1000 price range. Is anyone familiar with comparisons of the three?
Just got the D2D-1 form SF. I'm using it at 48KHz into my yet to be modified SFD2 MarkII. The upsampling from 44.1 to 48KHz is just noticable. I hope when I get the DAC upgraded to 96KHz I will hear a more significant difference. I am still using the standard SFT-1 deck and not a 96KHz capable deck. I will try my DVD's coax out through the D2D-1 and report if I can hear any difference, but don't own a DVD audio to play on it. Any suggestions for a jazz/classical music lover?
