Recalibration

Not wanting to derail an existing thread about Transparent Cables, I read something about recalibrating cables. Never heard of that so I went to the Transparent web site to find out more. They state, "Properly calibrated cables insure that your connected components perform at their best, and you are able to enjoy the full measure of the Transparent design philosophy. "

Sounds like they want the best for the customer, very admirable!

A google search did not reveal what cable calibration is but plenty on

calibration of the equipment for audio and home theater. That I understand.

Can anyone offer some insight as to what is done to recalibrate cables.?

Thanks!

Ways to make more money for starters. The rest of reasons isn't that high of a caliber.

I have had the Transparent Reference mm2 speaker cables in my system for a few of years. That i purchased new and was calibrated for my system (amp and speakers). Before that i borrowed a friends exact cables, but calibrated for his system. (both solid state amps not the same amp different speakers). His did not sound as good by a small margin as the cables i purchased from Transparent for my system. Same cable different calibrations. Why i do not know?? But there was a difference.. His cables did sound good in his system and that's why i borrowed them for a week before ordering mine.
