Recommendations for a shipper

Good morning,

For those who have used a shipper i need advice. I need a shipper to pick up and crate and ship from the west coast to the east coast freight. Probably, a box a little less in size than a cubic yard ,and 100 lbs in weight. Any experience ,and perhaps idea of costs involved would be great.

thanks in advance!

“… I need a shipper to pick up and crate and ship from the west coast to the east coast freight….”

“…thank you but i need someone to come and pick up. Its a local sale only…”

im confused by your two contrasting posts highlighted above.

The physical logistics are the same.  All of the shippers can AND will pick it up at your  house if you select that logistics  option online,. They will then ship it cross town or across the country….The only difference is price .

What i want is offered for sale on the west coast. The person selling it wishes for someone to come to his house and pick it up. i wish for a shipper to pick it up and crate and ship. I will check with those you mentioned but my understanding is they will pack but you have to bring  them the item. Also this will be more than a hundred pounds packed. I dont think those you mentioned will ship that.

@akg_ca  i looked and stand corrected. Fedex does indeed do freight defined as above 150. It turns out i underestimated and the weight os 190. Ups does not. I cant get their qebsite to work but an old fashioned call should help.

I was impressed with UPS until I saw one of them carrying my 120 lbs amp across the yard on the verge of dropping it the entire way.

Get the insurance no matter who you use. UPS has a good reputation of righting the wrong from what I read.

The next delivery was 2 170 lb speakers, 2 rel subs (friends), amp, and a streamer.

For this my friend I just took a trailer from KC to Chicago and took the delivery ourselves. We almost dropped a speaker.🤣

Seconding the use of Craters and Freighters.

I have used them twice for east to west coast, heavy/bulky/expensive speakers. They pick up, pack and crate like champs, and provide updates along the way.
