Pre-pros with good 2-channel and bass control

I am contemplating my next purchase. I have a two-channel system in which I am perfectly satisfied. I recently purchased a killer sub-woofer I'd like to incorporate into my 2.0 system, but stereo preamps obviously do not get the job done.

Here are my requirements:

A quality stereo stage with sub control enabled.

My amp has an adjustable low-pass filter, so that is not as necessary in terms of function as it is a consideration of build quality.

I'd like the box to be built in the U.S., Canada, some European country, or Japan. (That excludes Parasound P5)

I do NOT care about surround or video processing. I'll find an Anthem d2v if I want to make the jump.

Under $1000 street value.

My current considerations are an Aragon Soundstage and Theta Casablanca I. Thanks.

Subs incorporate easily into any stereo.

If you had an SVS you could control it remotely.

My subwoofer is passive, so it has no onboard controls. I can't use the tape in/out trick, if that is what you're referring to. As far as I understand it, I need a sub pre-out to control the bass levels.

Ended up calling the number associated with highperformacestereo.com , I assume it is the gentleman who runs the store who answered the phone; he gave great advice, and I am happy with my decision after the fact. I figure no way better to thank him than giving him a good review for his services.
