Spotify navigation?

I would very much appreciate some advice. I have tidal and roon, and it is terrific of course. I am wanting to add spotify to the musical arsenal to add to music availability. Thing is, my beloved roon as we know doesn't work with spotify.

I know there isn't any navigation that quite measures up to roon, but what is the best...closest to roon...navigation software for spotify? I would sure miss roon if there wasn't anything out there that had something akin to roon to offer. Thank you very much

Spotify HiFi is the long-awaited entry into CD-quality streaming from the popular music streaming service. The tier was announced in February last year with the promise of a launch sometime in 2021 ...... but we still haven't got it. When it finally arrives, however, it should be worth the wait.

Spotify HiFi will allow Spotify Premium subscribers to 'upgrade' their membership so they can listen to higher quality lossless audio streams via Spotify Connect. Suggestions that 'HiFi' streaming could actually be implemented as part of the 'Platinum' service, offering additional playlists, podcasts and usability features, have also recently surfaced in the rumour mill. Also, if you want to download Spotify HiFi locally to your computer, AudFree Spotify Music Downloader will help.

Does Lumin allow Spotify Connect on your D1? It seems like Spotify is a lot like Apple with their consumers - they want their consumers to stay within their ecosystem, which limits or denies access to their content from other platforms/businesses. For example, If you have BluOS (Node) and select Spotify, it will automatically kick you back to Spotify’s app with implied encouragement to use Spotify Connect so you can stay within Spotify.

Unsure if there are any other third-party platforms that could mimic Roon’s UI and functionality, while using your Lumin. If Spotify delivers with their Hi-Fi content and you have a streamer (which I believe you do) that allows for Spotify Connect, you may not need Roon (Spotify’s UI is pretty good, music discovery) or Tidal (Spotify has a deep library).

Personally I like Roon A LOT and think Spotify pushes too many podcast on their user landing page. But at the same time, I could also see myself transferring playlist from both Roon and Tidal over to Spotify once Hi-Fi is released.

You should be able the Spotify app on your iPad and select the device from the icon in the left bottom corner to stream Spotify on the Lumin. I believe your Lumin is Spotify Connect compatible.Once connected, use the iPad to control what you want to play.
