Bill Evans Riverside Recordings Box Set is FINALLY IN STOCK!!

I ordered this from Acoustic Sounds in Nov 2020 and just got my shipment notification tonight!  Yay!!  It has been way overpriced on Discogs so glad they are finally available for anyone that wants.

I like the Bill Evans box set $900 , since I have some of his album? I decided to buy the Venus 30th aniversary box set sampler for $449.

I had a Riverside box set of the 1963 trio recordings with Scott Lafaro and Paul Motian and they were just all-right. Riverside left the mixes alone but cleaned things up however at PCM 16 bit/44.1 I opted to sell it for more than I paid for it and eventually downloaded a DSD file of ‘Waltz for Debbie’ which I like a slight bit better.

I have finally had time to play the first 2 titles of this boxset.
Sadly, quite disappointed in the quality of the vinyl so far... I have played 4 sides and 3 of the 4 have unacceptably noisy vinyl... constant ticks/hash.
At $82 per album, $41 per disc, this is even more unacceptable.

I waited so long for this... and I'm finding no matter if its RTI or QRP, the pressings more often than not are noisy.

Starting to re-think my purchasing in this hobby... getting really tired of the lack of QC.

@rich121 I would talk to the folks at Acoustic Sounds.  I have played all the discs a couple times now and none of them have noise.  They are all just as quiet as my MoFi UD1S albums.

The QC of today's world of pressing has been a let down.  Noise and warpage on brand new records is too common.  I bought a vinyl flat for the warpage and it works well, but only on new vinyl...has never worked on older albums.

When I last spoke to AS about an update of this release I asked if they were pressing enough to ensure my backorder would be fulfilled.  They said do not worry as they are pressing more than enough for future sales as well.  I would think they could work with you on a possible replacement.  I would at least want to send them back so they can experience the problem.  Hopefully they would be open to this on such a high-value product.

Good luck!

I was SHOCKED when I looked up the value of what a minty copy of my

"New Jazz Conceptions" album  can be!

The LP itself is short A+ mint, and the jacket looks new, for a 66 year old LP. It was a find in a box of fresh acquisitions my local store had from a retired executive for some record label. I paid $20 bucks, 20 years ago? At the time, I thought it was a stretch.

The LP itself sounds as if it as pressed yesterday-very nice.

If anyone wants it for...$500? message me-snicker. This is just a goof.

I'll just leave my entire LP collection on the sidewalk when the time comes I think all this audio stuff is junk.
