Recording vinyl woes

Hello all,

I have a Marantz DR17 and would like to record some of my vinyl. Problem is, its been ten years and I no longer have any of the TDK blanks I used to use that worked well. I have Verbatim and Staples discs now, but they will not work in the recorder, only in my CD drive.

Anyone here also using a standalone CD recorder ( preferably Marantz or Phillips ) that could tell me what CDR works in their recorder.

Thanks,                         Crazy Bill

I don't know if someone else can chime in here but as far as I can recall the disc that you use in these recorders is either Recordable CD + or - as there are two types. Hope this helps.

The blanks I used in my non-commercial Pioneer were labeled "digital audio" (it would only recognize blanks marked as such to record).

Here's an old chat about it.

You need Music CDRs that have paid a royalty for the priveledge of being functional. They were a tough task to acquire years ago.

Good luck

CD-RWs last for years if you can get them.
