+1 for Marchand. You might be able to hear the difference between a low cost crossover, but I personally cannot. DBX has always made good stuff. Once you bi or tri-amp, you will likely not go back to a passive crossover. Been multi-amping for 40+ years.
Crossovers
I`d like to know would a cheap crossover affect the quality of sound in my system oppose to a more expensive crossover? I`m looking at Marchand X44 which is the more expensive crossover, the cheaper c/over the cost is $500. Part of my gear speakers 3.6 magnepan aka(maggies) power amps Pass x350 Pass x350.5 preamp Pass Xp30.

STL will build you a wonderful big valve crossover just for your current speaker or ANY you decide to go to.. I use a simple Behringer 2496 for bass management and First Watt for the monitor section. B4 or 5 depends on application once again. A step baffle is in one and it is adjustable.. One up is STL, 2, 3 and 4 way big valve active crossovers.. GOOD parts. or they have a sub tube active XO too, again with a step baffle if you want.. Regards |
I used this one.
