LTA micro zotl preamp

For all you working class audiophiles! Listen to me carefully. The LTA micro zotl pre amp is a giant killer! Just got it and with stock tubes it has great promise . Great dynamics, presence and resolution! You don’t need to spend $30k to get a decent preamp! I’m not kidding! Enjoy the music!😊

You may not find anyone for a while. The MZ3 has only been in production for a short time. I have the MZ2 and the new full function MicroZOTL Preamp. The new pre is really good and a nice jump in quality from the MZ2, but the little MZ2 is one helluva preamp on its own. You can’t go wrong either way. I can only guess here but I bet the MZ3 is a winner.
Just to be absolutely clear, LTA sells THREE tube preamps.
  • microZOTL MZ2: $1235-$2160 depending on options
  • microZOTL MZ3: $3700
  • microZOTL Preamplifier: $4450
I recently upgraded from the MZ2 to MZ3 and there were many considerable improvements. I did not go with the MicroZOTL because my system is digital and did not require all the inputs on the MicroZOTL. I'm using the MZ3/Ultralinear combination and it is heavenly.
Good to hear...I just ordered the MZ3 as well for use in a desk top system on a pair of active Dynaudios, impatiently waiting for it to be built. Pairing it with the BP dac as well..LTA is a great company, love what they are doing with this tech. Going to be a disruptor for sure.

Hi gaal -

I am considering the MZ3 as a preamp and headphone amp. I am all digital, and only need one input for the DAC. Which DAC are you using, may I ask? A single-ended DAC?

The main reason to get the full LTA preamp instead, with balanced XLR inputs ($4700), is to be able to connect a DAC with XLRs, rather than single-ended/RCA. Many of the DACs I am interested in (Holo, Denafrips) are balanced DACs (that also have RCA outputs) and I am concerned that if I connect them to the MZ3 with RCAs, I won't be getting the full performance of the DAC compared to a balanced connection.

Anyone know the answer? Thx.
