Looking for a good full range floor stander

Hello all.  Making a good two way system for a 20 x 40x 12 high room budget 12k to 16 k.  Powered by a bryston 14b cubed amp.  Have a surround system with Golden ear ref and surrounds powered by parasound a21 for mains  and Carver cinema grand for surrounds. Like the GEs  The speakers I'm looking for will be for music only lots of jazz (female vocalist a fav), classical, classic rock and roll (70's and up).  I have heard good things about proac k6, Joseph audio, and a few others but am not within 4 hours of audition range.  Real interested in people in the know about the proac or suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

The speakers also have to be childproof and be able to play insanely loud in a large room without damage and be satisfyingly musical in the evening? There's always something better and the only way to own the 'best' is to decide you like what you have and quit shopping!
@schubert

"I've owned over 100 speakers."

Yikes.  I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum; I've owned 2 primary pair in 43 years (Dahlquist DQ10a's, Aerial 10T's).  My selection process was always exhaustive, and I've listened to over 100 speakers, but obviously I stick with the ones I love the most.

I'm both envious of your energy and daunted by the prospect of switching so regularly.  What drives you to change so much?

Where do the rest of you fall in this arena?
I've personally owned several pairs of speakers, most were bought used off Audiogon, swapmeets or sites like Craigslist/Offer Up. My latest find were a pair of Paradigm Atom v3 for $20.

To me I enjoy hearing differen't brands of speakers in my own environment for extended periods of time. A short akward audition in a showroom doesn't tell me much. The only problem is when it comes time to sell. I wish there was a way to rent hi end speakers and avoid the whole buy/sell routine.

I admit I've never had alot of money to just buy the best and be done with it. Even then I'd still want to enjoy many speakers in my own enviroment.
Is it me, or the OP didn´t posted his final decision? Come on OP, let us know about your call :)
