Zu Soul Superfly

I just ordered a pair of the new Zu speakers on a whim. I was going to wait for information, but the fact that they threw in the free superfly upgrades to the first 30 people got me.

From a similar thread it sounds like some of you guys have heard the speaker despite information only being released today. I'm wondering what you can share about it?

Also, I am really hoping it works with a Firstwatt F1 amplifier. Can anyone comment as to that? I know the Druid's and Essences worked OK.

I have the Presence and very little feedback has been out there on this speaker.

For those who have heard it where does it fall in the Zu line up?

I am hooked on the Zu sound and will get the Def2 when the time is right.

The RWA 70.2 sounded like crap next to the AS S30. How does crap sound? Like the RWA 70.2.

Love or hate the look of the Presence. In our home it fits and for the $$$ is a great sounding speaker.

The S30 on the Presence speakers is so good I just can not think of a better amp for them. Made the RWA 70.2 sound like cardboard. The amp is so good I bought it new and that is not my way of thinking. I did not want ot wait 6 months for it to come up for sale on the 'Gon.

Now if the Def2 comes up I would like to buy it and hear the difference from the Presence.

Don't you love when blank statements are made about a unit that is not thought out.

This is HI-FI sounding and this is not. There are 10 different factors in play for the final sound and not just one unit. To say the Essence is Hi Fi sounding is .........

How does the Presence/Def2 pan out next to the SSF Def.?

Well boys and girls I bought the SSF for a friend. He is buying my AS S30 amp.

We now need to buy the source. I need help with buying a Hrz Dac for 2K that can go direct into the amp. The Dac will run with a MM.

Any thoughts?

Have mine 12" from the front wall with great results. You are in for a sweet ride.

Upgrade the super tweeter then buy the new Zu amp for the subs and do a little reinforcement of the box and presto you have MK3.

Oh forgot, rewire with Stage 3 Concepts wire for a better speaker than the Def4 LOL.
