Zu Soul Superfly

I just ordered a pair of the new Zu speakers on a whim. I was going to wait for information, but the fact that they threw in the free superfly upgrades to the first 30 people got me.

From a similar thread it sounds like some of you guys have heard the speaker despite information only being released today. I'm wondering what you can share about it?

Also, I am really hoping it works with a Firstwatt F1 amplifier. Can anyone comment as to that? I know the Druid's and Essences worked OK.

If you look out the Zu site under the Loudspeaker heading and scroll down to the Soul (not the Superfly) you will see the differences listed along with the sonic improvements noted for the Superfly. Can't say if the sonic improvements are proportional to the price difference (especially when considering the sale price of the Soul ), however I would personally opt for the Superfly.
I have used both Druid and now Essence in a 10'x12' room, placing my listening position about 7' from the speakers with good results. Had feared the Essence bass response would overload the room , but it did not. At this distance the speakers seem to have an intimacy and immediacy that has not been matched by any other speaker in my room. Especially nice for late night listening because the Zu speakers are well balanced at low volumes.
Running the Soul Superfly off the 8 ohm taps of a Leben C300sx and they sound fantastic. Have owned the Druid and the Essence and the Soul is my favorite Zu by far. My listening room is 12' by 10' and I sit approximately 7 feet from the speakers. I had to experiment with the angle of the front baffle by raising the footers on the front of the speakers tilting the speaker back to improve the speakers coherence. With the the speaker level seemed I was missing some of the information coming thru the fullrange and the speaker sounded dull. The soundstage is huge , bass is tight and deep- vocals are much improved over the Druid and Essence . Zu soul Superfly offers tone/texture/detail in a nonfatigueing package.
If I am not mistaken the requirements for floor to speaker gap with the Superfly is different from that of the druid as the pyramid shaped cartridge and finger slots at the bottom of the cabinet performs the bass tuning . Do not have manual with me , but I believe the only requirement re the cabinet to floor gap is that it allows proper function of the griewe loading system. Is it possible that you have lowered the cabinet too close to the floor interfering with the bass loading system ?
