I called Eric and placed my order for the Lore earlier this week and he said they will be ready next week. I can't wait to listen to them.I am currently using meadowlark swift and I am sure the Lore will be a great improvement specially with SET amp..can someone share what speaker cables are good match silver vs Cooper?
Gpowered thank you so much for the recommendation i will look at the Q today.Did anybody try using Paul S. anti cable with the Lore?
I just picked up the Lore and met with Eric. What a great guy you absolutely get the feeling from the first minute you meet him that he is not here to sell you a pair of speakers but he is here to share his love and knowledge of building a world class speakers with you..I took the speakers of the boxes and they are damn heavy i know it is way way too early to talk about how good they are but i can tell you this from the first LP or cd i played i can feel the bass in my face and a fantastic midrange. again i know it is too early and Eric told me just to let them run for 15 hours or so at a moderate to bit higher volume and by tomorrow i will get at least 70% of what the Lore can deliver. I can't wait to hear the difference.. To all of you Audiogon members who are looking for new speaker,do yourself a favor and CALL ERIC.I will post a follow up later this week
I have around 80 hours on the Lore and the bass is phenomenal, the midrange is so pure and real without any coloration as for the high well it is absolutely fantastic...I will write a detailed review as soon as the speakers hit the 200 hours mark..Dan
I am driving my Lore with onix sp3 and my sources are Clearaudio concept TT and the amazing 16bit consonance cd 120 linear..I am looking for your recommendations for a new amp that can top the onix and match the Lore very well..I few speaker cables(ZU WAX,DH LABS Q10 & T14,Kimber 4tc & 8tc)for some reason the anti cable sound the best with the Tekton. I know Zmanastronomy make a similar cable and i will place an order to try them pretty soon
It has been almost a month now since i picked up my Lore from Eric in Orem Utah. I would love to call myself "Audiophile" but i guess i still have a lot to learn and maybe so many systems to listen to before i can call myself Audiophile. At this point i really don't see the need to listen to many systems in fact after listening to the Lore in my system i would rather be an audio lover then audiophile. Several audiogoner said it early in this forum Do not waist time and any more money and go do yourself a favor and order the LORE..What you will get with the Lore is an absolutely amazing soundstage, fullness awith tons of clarity, details and lovely focus. I used Eminent Technology a while ago and yes you get the sense of more air flowing around the notes but you will not get all the other benefits that the Lore can deliver. So many talk about comparing the Lore to other speakers Well i am glad i didn't have to compare speakers to each others and made a great decision by buying the Lore..
I am to extremely happy with my Lore. Just added a cayin tube integrated amp and the sound is amazing. I found myself listening to my vinyl collection a lot more then cd or even sacd thanks to the lore and the way it make analogue sound magical
I drove my lore with a primaluna 1 and sounded really good. Last weekend I decided to experiment th lore with a high power SS amp(tad125 hibachi mk2) and a mingda mc7 with response audio mods. I knew this mono block will be too much for the Lore. The lore sounded fantastic with this mono block and I decided to keep this setup for a while. The amps are overkill but for some reason the Lore opened up alot more and i heard a nice tight low end that I was missing with the Primaluna.
Go with primaluna 1, 2 or even with the 7. They really make the lore shine
Happy listening. Dan
Anyone compared the lore to a magnepan 1.7 or 1.6? I know we are talking of 2 different types of speakers here but i was just curious.
Happy listening Dan
Sebrof. Thanks for your reply to my question. I am
Driving my Lores with a primaluna tube amp for a year now and they
Sound great. I will stick with this combo
For a while.
Gpowered thanks for the info. Can you please tell me
How far are the speakers from back wall ans side walls.
I remember someone in this thread mentioning that
His Lores are just 7" from the back wall and the bass
Is great. I am not a bass fanatic at all and my Lores are 31" from back wall and 20" from side walls.
Avs9. I used different cables with the lore and the pendragon including mogami and my favorite so far are the clear day cable.Give Paul a call he is a wonderful guy and excellent cables maker. Good luck
Dan
After reading all the great reviews i decided to order the Pendragon. I was looking for a second used pair of Lore and i was able to locate a pair on Audioown.com I will use the Lore in my HT and the Pendragon in my 2 channel listening room
