Stereo times has a new review on the M-Lore too. He kept them.

Eric has kicked some goals lately with some more good reviews.

Be interesting to hear some feed back on the new pendragons with the seas drivers!

I would look into a zobel on the main driver before looking at the tweeter.

I thought the same as you that it was the top end that was hot but it wasn't.
A simple zobel installed on the main drivers terminals has made all the difference. Now they are a lot more even handed across the range without loosing any of the good stuff.

It's only a cap and a resistor in series. I bought these lore's of Rocky500 and if you look back in this thread you will see when he did the zobel. I had a listen before and after. Let's put it this way, I bought them off him the second time. I liked them the first time but loved them the second.

At the end of the day though there are so many variables in everyone's setups that it's just a Tweeker that some may like.
Cap upgrades from Tekton now available.

I was looking into getting the mundorf silver oil caps from the supplier here in australia. It's a fair bit cheaper than shipping in from the states.

Eric sent me an email telling me I need a 4 & 10 uF caps for the lore but the silver oils only come in a 3.9uF. Will this do or should I put a 1 uF in series with the 3.9?
I know some have upgraded the lore xover here so can you share what you did please.

Many thanks.
I agree. I find the lore's one of the best "all rounders" I've come across. They can be true to sorce. So it will show if the recording is poor but not to the point it's fatiguing. I find they like good valve amplification.
This thread has died off so I thought it a good time to ask.

Who still has their Lore or what ever model? Still happy?

Same as above for Omen owners.

If you changed speaker, to what and why?

I for one still have my Lore's. I'm serously thinking of upgrading the cross overs. I bought them used so although the caps would cost as much as the speakers did, I think the end result will be better than if I sold them and spent the same amount on something different. ($1300.00)

Have you had a chance to put the Lore & M-Lore in the same room to see what difference there is???
Thats a very good question Nico.

I find the Lore can change quite a bit with different toe in/out. A bit too much in my room and i have played around alot trying to decide which i prefer.

I found that toe in so the speaker is almost firing staight at you brings more detail and focus with vocals more upfront but looses some bass impact, the sound stage narrows and on some recordings can bit a bit in your face when playing loud.

Toe them out so that they are almost straight ahead and i found the soundstage widens alot more and the overall sound is more even handed across the range and is more forgiving to the recording and volume. Bass has more punch and vovals take a step back. I have i prefer this setup overall but at times i still change it just to confirm it in my head.

What about in the middle of the two positions? Yeh you would think this would be the ideal considering the above but i found it hard to get that middle ground in my room.

I like to have them off the wall as much as i can without loosing too much bass as i find the sound stage depth is better.

Now this is in my room so ymmv. At the moment i have them on the long wall of my room and sit about 8 feet from them
and they are about 7foot apart. But im am planning to turn the room around so they will be on the short wall and i will be able to sit a bit further away. I used to have my previous system this way and the room accustics where better.
