Yamamoto A-08s and preamp CA-04

I have recently ordered a Yamamoto A-08s 45 tube amp and a Yamamoto CA-04 preamp.  I have Avantgarde Trio 109db speakers.

Anyone have experience with these? Any advice?

(They are delivering in 16 weeks!)

Ujjal,

What was your experience using the Yamamoto A-08s on your AG Trio speakers? I have the AG Duo Mezzo XD speakers and the active subwoofers are giving me a slight and audible hum with my Triode Lab 45 EVO from the listening position. Would be great to know, if the Yamamoto is silent on your active subwoofers?

Joe Roberts of Sound Practices (look it up - the best journal for DIY tube enthusiasts!) thought that the 45 was the best sounding triode for SE use! He also liked the 71A (half the power of the 45). I bought a pair of Heresy's to use with my SE 45 and 2A3 amps.
Ordered directly.

I am currently using Avantgarde's Model 5 amplifier. Eager to see if I hear the tube magic difference.
Did you order direct or through another site? Just curious because it's on my list of future gear. Cool combo! I hope you like it.

That A-O8s SE45 amp is a mere 1.75 wpc! It was reviewed some years ago by Stereophile (should be in their archives). I have a similar SE amp - two-channel 45/6C6's built on a Dyna ST70 chassis by Will Vincent. Requires a 100db sensitivity speaker, like your Avantgarde's. I have Klipsch Heresy's. Excellent sound with the right speaker match!
