Yamaha rx-3800

Hi there!

Im new here and a dummy when it comes to setting up my system. I have a yamaha rx-v3800 receiver and i would like to set it up to listen to music, music only. I have 4 loud speakers that i want to connect to it in stereo setting. Can anybody help me how to connect them? I have tried everything and i cant get a single sound out of them. Thank you
