XLR phase B termination

I have not seen it mentioned, but on the majority of XLR outputs in consumer products, they do not like (blow up) if using an adapter for single ended that grounds phase B.   Seems the best approach it to take phase B to ground through a 22K resistor.  Some OP-Amps can withstand a shorted ( 10 Ohm) output, some topologies can, but most consumer can't.

Most manufactures do not mention this but I did see a warning in a Topping manual.   Comments?
