Would It Be Possible To Get Help Finding This Song?

Thank You dabel & jwei for such quick replies!! Money$ Too Tight (To Mention) - Simply Red is not it. I should have mentioned that it has a slower beat. I completely understand that you are fed up with all the news these days. I am at that point! Jwei, I appreciate the advice to contact the show directly. I might try to find some contact info for them.

I found the 06/09/23 episode and streamed it, On-Line. They cut out the “Bumper Music” and visual before the commercial. I assume that would be the case with the other dates I was thinking of. The music is in the show and not the commercial. I learned a new term, “Bumper Music”, so Thanks for that!

Hi, frankmc195! I was not able to pick-up the lyrics and now the melody has faded from my Head! But, as in the past with other songs, it might come back, I hope!

I can’t find any “On Demand” for “The Five” through Cable, to see if I can watch it, again. If they do offer that and I could find it, there might be a “Lag Time” before it is available.

This is really something, trying to find a song they you hear on the radio, TV, etc. I remember as a teen, I would hear something on the radio like a “Deep Cut” and at that time you had to get out the “Yellow Pages” and look up the radio station to try and ask the D.J. Also, we had an excellent local Record Shop. They would let you take a 45 out of the sleeve and they had a turntable you could Spin it on. The guys in the Record Shop were super friendly and would do anything to try and find it for you. I was 13 years old and these guys were older Hippies with long hair, yet they always took me seriously when it came to music. The Record Shop was a long ways from my house and I had to take a city bus to get there. But, it was worth it and a great way to spend a Saturday!!

Not always, but some of the “Old School” D.J.’s were so cool and would give you a great “Intro & Info’ before they played a song. I don’t care what they say about “AI”, it could never replace an actual D.J., a person with “Life Experiences” or a concert he went to before playing a song from the Band he had seen. We had local weekly radio shows, late on Saturday nights. Shows like “The Darkside”, “Space Headquarters”, etc. You never had any idea what they would play next because they knew what “Flow” was for a radio show!

I am very sorry for “Rambling On” (No Pun Intended) with this message! This message got away from me and I started “Reminiscing” (No Pun Intended)!

Now, with all this technology it is much easier to find an Artist or Song. But, so far this one has got away from me.

If I find it, for sure I will let you know! The funny thing is, what if I do hear the whole song and I am not real “Big” on it??

I did send a “DM” through Fox’s Facebook. Maybe they will reply!

Hi mhodel. It’s so cool that you took the time to help!! Thank You for a clear & detailed set of instructions! I did follow them and pasted the URL proper. The first suggestion on Google was “The Five - Friday, June 9 | Fox News Video”. Then I got a “404” for that page. I think they may have already taken it off their website. If this would provide access to the June 7^th, 8^th or 9^th shows, I would be willing to sign up on their website. All in the quest for one song!!!!

 I have been attempting all the other other great suggestions from all you guys!

It appears that the only Podcasts available are from the three most recent shows. So, there are none going back to them dates.

I totally understand your request and I was trying to find the song you heard on " The Five " show between June 7th, 8th & 9th but unfortunately I wasn't able to find the exact information. 
All I could see that might give you a chance to find the information you are looking for would be to be aware of the Facebook posts from "The Five" since I was able to observe that sometimes they share the playlists used on certain days.

This is not a good sigh when “Fox Customer Care” Can’t find the song they played!!
 

I did watch all 5 segments/blocks for 06/09/23 on YouTube. But, they don’t include the break to a commercial.

I can’t seem to find an E-Mail address for Greg Gutfeld.

I know this is starting to “Border On Ridicules” at this point! I am sure all of you guys have much better things to do with your time! It’s just that now, I don’t want to throw the towel in! Again, maybe the entire song is just not that great, but the “Refrain” did sound good! Now, that damn “Refrain” will not come back to me! I know this is all “Self-Inflicted” on my part!!

Hi michaelmshaw!!  I think you and I are on a “Wavelength”. This is a good tune that I had bought when it came out. But, now it is a problem for me. I have been trying to retrieve the short clip of the song I am looking for in my 65 year old brain. So, I will sit quiet and each time I do, “Lady In Red” keeps playing in my head. It’s funny that I think it does have a similar melody to it. But, now I am starting to second guess myself! When I first mentioned “They played a song and the male singer had the sound of “Simply Red” or “Chris de Burgh”, I was totally “Winging It”! For all I know, this artist could be a “One Hit Wonder”! For me, the only way to clear my head of an “Ear Worm” is to play the song. I am listening to Lady In Red”, right now! It does sound very good on my system!

I FOUND THE SONG and many, many Thanks to (mhodel) and his “Colombo Like Instincts”. He had a creative way to provide me with a “Link” that I just could not come across. Sure enough, the “Link” had a complete listing of Podcasts for the show that did include the commercial breaks and “Bumper Music”. First, I listened to the 06/09/23 show to no avail. Then I listened to the 06/08/23 show and at the 27 minute, 20 second time marker, THERE IT WAS!! I used “Shazam” and even with only the 5 second sound clip it found it! The Band is “Roxy Music” and the Song is Avalon!! I actually have this vinyl album from back in the day (1982). I knew that I had heard it through the years, but it has been so long, I forgot who did it and the name of it. There is a pretty good chance, that if (mhodel) had not found this “Link’, I might have thrown the towel in! I have always liked all “Genres” of music and tend to lean towards “Electric Blues”. But, “Avalon” is a good song that I had put on some “Mix Tapes”, back in the day! This song sounds really good on my system, even with it being recorded in 1982! It’s funny that sometimes the original can sound better than “Qobuz” or “Apple Digital Mastered”. I am playing it on my Bang & Olufsen Turntable (I have three B & O Turntables). This Turntable & my Klipsch Cornwalls I bought in the early 80’s. Around that time I bought my first McIntosh units. Since then I had a B & K A/V Receiver for 18 years. In March of last year I bought two new McIntosh units. All these years, I would sample many speakers, off & on. But, the Cornwalls still sound great!

Again, I sincerely appreciate all the research, suggestions & advice from all of you to find this song! Repeating myself, I know that you have better things you could be doing with your time! I will not forget this!!
