WOULD IT BE DUMB TO BUY A MARK LEVINSON NO 23.5

This amp is probably 30 years old. There is one I can grab for 2500 bucks. Good buy? Too old? What do you goners think?

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have an opportunity to buy a ML No. 23 amp from a dealer. It ha supposedly been serviced at Stereo Rehab in Chicago and has a 1 year warranty on that. Right channel apparently had thermal damage (not sure exactly what they mean by that; pcbs burn up, lesser thermal damage?). I repair and build audio equipment myself (for myself), and in my readlng on diyaudio have seen what a pain much of the ML gear can be to work on. I do have at least partial schematics for this.
I currently own an Odyssey Stratos Plus, which I was considering having upgraded to a Kismet, for about the same price. The Odyssey amp has been very reliable, and sounds good, but probably not to the level of good of the ML. From my reading on diyaudio, I swore I would never buy one seeing as how painful these are to work on, but reading on their sound qualities, I find this one tempting. Price wise, it is about a wash with the Odyssey upgrade.
Any thoughts? Rest of system is Pass Aleph P preamp, Von Schweikert VR4 Gen2 speakers.
