Why the hate for mcintosh amps?


Why dont people,like mcintosh? Who motivates this?

so what are the alternatives??

I appreciate your thoughts. A couple of of questions:
1) Were the B&W speakers used in the listening session the D’4’s or D3’s? You stated D4 but you also stated you had purchased them 2 years ago. 2) Also, when hooked up to the McIntosh, were they using mono blocks or a stereo amp? 3) which Bryston amp are you using now?
The Boulder 1160 stereo amp is $28,000.  The Mac 611 monos are $15,000 a pair.  I would hope the Boulders would be better.
I noticed the same thing. No one likes the same things, or sounds.  That is what makes the world go round.  No need to bash.  I appreciate everyone’s opinion, and I know everyone feels strongly about their purchases,  but come on, we all have  the same passion.

My 611’s with B&W 802d3’s are outstanding.  Plenty of solid bass punch, beautiful mid range, and clear highs.  Maybe Macs sound flat with other speakers, but mate well with B&W’s.
