Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile?

Many of you ask others to advise you, but the answer to so many questions is system dependent.  Why don’t you post your system on your profile prior to requesting help?

You have an incredibly well curated list of components, are you happy with the end result? It seems the MLP is too far back from your pic.

@nonoise

I am not going to make audio recommendations to people that don't post their system. The medical recommendations you need are beyond the scope of this thread. I hope you got the Depends, it is only a work around until you can find a physician. All the best :).

@nonoise

"Look mommy, I made poopie in the toilet. Aren’t you proud of me?" Freud is laughing it up somewhere, wishing he could rewrite some of his findings.

Aging is something everyone has to face sooner or later. When you see what you posted I think we can both agree you have moved beyond having a "senior moment" and that dementia may have reared its ugly head. hey, it can happen, I won’t beat you up, I’ll get you the help you need.

First. do you have a phone or a camera? Do you actually even own any audio equipment or do you primarily listen in your car? Maybe you lack speakers and just like to hum to yourself? Whatever, its all good. Please reply and I will try and help best I can. if you need professional help that is beyond the scope of this thread. Just start a new one, "Man With Poopy Diaper and Early Signs of Dementia Seeks Help". In the meantime I have provided a link for additional info HERE.

@hifidream

First place in this thread! Wow, what a great job both on your system, the room, the equipment, the photos. I have never seen the type of blueprint drawings before in a thread, excellent. I also appreciated the before and after graph of your room, did you do that with the mini dsp? Just great!

@hifidream

You get it, you have to intertwine the subjective with the objective to make "budget worthy" decisions. It is so straight forward, not difficult, and much less expensive than new equipment upgrades without getting the room calibrated properly. IMO. Please let me know your thoughts on the system and graphs I have posted in my profile. Look forward to hearing about the dspNexus upgrade, thanks,

@jpan High five, the wooden rack and the way you treated the windows are inspiring.

@hifidream

Does it sound as good as this graph indicates? I have seen DSP be able to cut the highs, but not lift the dips like this, remarkable. The original signal looks pretty raggedy:

@hifidream

everything is jaw dropping.

That’s what I call a "budget worthy" component, when it can transform everything. Also interesting that you are running everything full range instead of using a crossover on the mains. Earl Geddes recommends that in addition to multiple subs. You get a result like this and you simply lose all desire to change anything. You know  changing gear will be different, but why bother. I think having a dynamite FR in your room should be mandatory in this hobby.

@hifidream

I learned a lot in these forums and to piece meal information together to actually execute the idea of an active system was not easy.

If you had to start over what would you do first, second, etc?

@tonywinga

Your HT looks great, question, I saw the ATB hooked up to your Marantz, have you tried spatial audio yet??

@hifidream

Yeah, obviously you started with a blueprint and checked off each milestone until you finished. I don’t see how people spend more money on upgrades before getting the room measured properly and dialing in the FR. It is hilarious that you were able to do all of this and even add those diagrams and some people still haven’t figured out how to take a pic and upload their system.

I was able to cut corners (and budget) by going the traditional active speaker route and using the DSP built into my processor. I like passive speakers and fiddling with amps and all, but active + room treatments+ DSP is a lot quicker and cheaper to get that type of FR.

@roxy54

Yeah, it just mystifies me why people would want to spend money based on advice from strangers on the internet while providing the least amount of info possible. I guess there is an entertainment factor though.
