SOUND

I can’t listen to opera MUSIC, not my taste.

But go to the opera with high quality SOUND, yes.

I can say the same thing for about every genre of music that’s not my taste, a LIVE performance with high quality sound? Check, count me in.

The next best thing is a concert blue ray in my 9.3.8 immersive audio setup. Music that is "meh" can sound great with a concert blueray.

When it comes to hirez,redbook, lowrez if it is a genre I don’t care for low fidelity makes it unlistenable, period.

@mahgister

By the way kota1 , i would be curious of your sonic impressions and musical impressions about 2 operas:

I got your links and will post my impressions, thanks

I found some opera videos on Tidal and will see if they have any tracks available in dolby atmos, will let you know more:

@tonydennison

So, I found Luna (Alessandra Safina) and Turandot (Nessun Dorma, Andre Bocelli Live in Centra Park).

WOW! I was able to playback in Doby Atmos, the ambience in Central park with the crowd, the singers in the chorus distinct separate voices coming together at the end. 😮

I never thought of listening to live opera recordings in Dolby Atmos and it definitely was amazing. I am going to try the whole album of the Central Park recording next time. BTW, Luna (I hope that's the right track) is great too, thanks!
