Who asked how good SMc upgrades are?

I had my circa 1995 McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe upgraded to the SMc Gold Plus level. Everything I loved about the original amp was enhanced, improved and raised up to a new level of performance. The music is more fluid, palpable, has more body and soundstage dimensionality. The upgrade makes the music sound more real, more involving and profoundly more enjoyable. I thought I was going to have to spend $5K or more on a new amp to realize any substantial improvement over the original DNA-1 Dlx but for less than $2K with shipping and insurance, I have a wonderful "new" amplifier that probably compares to ones costing $8-10K. The SMc upgrade is one of the best investments I've made in audio. Steve and Kris are very helpful and throughly professional. Highly, highly recommended! FYI: I feed the amp with a C-J Premier 17LS2 preamp, a Marantz SA-14 SACD palyer, into a pair of Spendor S8e's all interconnected to PS Audio Statement copper lines. BTW - I adore the Spendors, too.
