Which Marantz SR ??

I'm in the market for a new Marantz AVR and there are so many older SR models . If I get a 4K TV / 4K Blu Ray player in the next few of years do I need a 4K pass through Receiver? Or is that all going to change ....

Been looking at :

SR5006 - 10
SR 6006-10
SR 7006-10

what do you think is the best value and will last with he advent of 4K ....I really only need 5.1 or 7.1 at most
thanks!

I decided to hold off due to the 6007 not being HDCP 2.2 compliant , ugh! more decisions !

I'm actually looking at the SR-6007 right now - someone offering one for $350 looks mint - thanks!

Are you looking at the older "5006" series receivers?  Or do you actually mean the SR5010 series?  Marantz is currently up to the SRx011 series now (i.e. SR5011, SR6011, SR7011).

Generally speaking, all three of these models are pretty much the same as far as firmware and functionality.  The upper model may have a couple/few extra inputs or outputs.  The main difference is in the size of the power supply, which means better/smoother power for the amplifier circuits.  The SR6010 sounds a bit better/smoother than the SR5010 (less harsh).  And the SR7010 sounds a bit better then 6010.  Buy the best one you can afford.
