I had been looking at the Parasound P5 a while back, but recently became aware of the PS Audio Stellar Gain DAC/pre-amp, which includes home theater bypass. So, I ordered one and am about to hook it up, once I receive my xlr interconnects. The DAC implementation in it is supposed to be very good, as is the analog performance. We shall see.
Which Budget HT Bypass Option?
I’ve been looking at the following options to connect to my existing Receiver to power Dali Oberon 5’s;
1)Marantz PM8005
2)Peachtree Nova 150
3)Parasound P6
4)Emotiva XSP-1
Options 3 and 4 (Preamps) would be paired with my existing Emotiva A-500 5 Channel amp with the option of upgrading in the future. Options 2 and 3 not only both have DACs but use the same chips (ESS Reference 9018K2M Sabre DAC). Options 1 and 4 do not have DACs and would be paired with my existing Teac UD-301 DAC.
