When you suddenly realize....

When you suddenly realize that the world of music is at your fingertips from Tidal through your system to your ears. Pay the money. Sit back. Enjoy. CD or better quality. Albums you’ve never heard before. Endless explorations. Joy. Aren’t we incredibly fortunate?

I admit that the ritual of cleaning the vinyl or CD and cueing it up is satisfying. But exploring the whole wide world of music is so exciting. And now that we have at least 16/44 resolution it rivals my hard drive of a mere 1500 CDs on the hard drive. Plus I have a second residence with its own system and in the vehicles, so Tidal goes where I go. My MacMini and NAS will get less service now. She was a constant companion for many years. But, it won’t replace vinyl, for what it’s worth.
I realized the real value of Tidal when I started working from home recently. Acre laptop-Eastern Electric DAC-Emotiva stereo amp-Warfedale Diamond 10.1. Very simple. On the lower volume side. From their to my main systems and never looking back. One question I didn’t see answered above. How would Roon be of value if I am only streaming and not playing from my library?
