Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

The Cult, Electric, CD.
I'd have to go with "Love removal machine" as my fav song on this masterpiece.

N
mmusicman,

I give.... whats the band?
Tonight I'm going with Bulletboys, Freekshow, CD.
It's like if Van Halen all had children and they grew up and formed a band,,,,recorded an albumn,,, this is what it would sound like.
"Hang on St. Christopher"

Katmandu, S/T, CD 1991.
This one isn't a solid CD but one track stands out by light years. Its great. Driving drumms, searing guitar and howling vocals.
Vocalist Dave King from "Fastway"....Guitarist Mandy Meyer from "Krokus and Asia"...drummer Mike Alonso of "Flogging Molly"...
"When the rain comes"  is a classic.

Beck, " Where it's at".
Firehouse, S/T, CD.

oleschool,
Sounds like the 80’s were a lot of work and fun for you. I have a lot of 80’s media and like alot of music from that period. I have Kingdom Come S/T, great CD.
Great set list also. "Paper Money" being the last Montrose featuring Sammy and "UFO Live" is one of my favorite live recordings (And Tull, "A little Light music").

nmmusicman,
I’ll look into you recommendation. I’ve not heard it. Always looking for new music.
Love Jackyl, saw them twice. I listed Jesse James Dupree as one of my all time favorite front men and vocalist. I have one Nazareth, great band. Huge Candlebox fan too. At one show, someone from the crowd tossed a Viking helmet on stage, it didn’t fit so he duct taped it onto his head for several songs! My fav song from them is "Rain". Definitely. Here’s a link to a fantastic live version. It is smokin hot.

Thanks again for posting, Everyone!

I had a lot of catching up to do!
nmmusicman- Stone Fury is great. Don’t know how they got past me back in the day. Your a Crue fan? I’m not a big one. But I do have the 1994 S/T disc without Vince. It’s recorded great and has some solid tracks. I know Marrion, have you heard of Trillion?

jafant- I dig Tracy. Did you catch the cover of "Give me one reason" by Leslie West on his "Soundcheck"? The whole disc is great.

oleschool - I’m a huge April Wine fan. Heard just about everything and have several of theirs. Y&T was great, "Summertime girls", who could forget. Need to dig into the Tigers of Pentang and Ozric Tenecles.(did I spell that correctly. ;-)

astro58go- My wife loves Miles so he gets pleanty of airtime. I saw you listened to Queen. One of my favorite bands ever. Saw them in Cincinnati before we lost Freddie M.
Larry Carlton, "Josie"....(Steely Dan)
https://youtu.be/6q_zUeEGS70

Kelly Keeling, Mind Radio. Former lead singer of Baton Rouge.
Tommy Boiln, From the archives, CD. Tommy is one of the greats.

Also check out "Stratus" from Billy Cobham's Spectrum. Tommy plays lead guitar.

Cream, Wheels of fire.
Kansas, Masque, CD. "Pinnacle" is classic Kansas.

N

April Wine, First Glance,  CD. Thanks to oldschool for reminding me of them a few threads back.

And a song from April Wine, The whole worlds crazy, "So bad" featuring Frank Marino.

Frank Marino, Juggernaut, CD.

N
Marillion has a new one out today. Anyone heard it?
Called. F.E.A.R. (F**k everyone and run).

Skid Row, Slave to the grind. "Quicksand Jesus" is my fav.

N

Nmmusicman-

"...She's Sister Mary now, eyes as cold as ice. He takes her once a week on the alter like a sacrifice..."

N
Crawler S/T.

Aslo- Glenn Hughes, Addiction is pretty good to if you haven't heard it.
More Glenn Hughes news, ( thanks arcam88), he has a new CD due out November 4th......"Resonate"......it can be pre-ordered.

N

Muse, Greatist Hits, CD.
This truly a Greatist hits set. And this CD is recorded very, very well. Give your neighbor's a wake up call and spin this one.

N

hifiman- agreed.

jafant- Pink Floyd at 6:00 am. My hats off to you!

Blue Oyster Cult, Sectret Treaties, CD. "Career of evil" (in celebration of the election).

N
Eagles, Long Road out of Eden. CD.
The title track is recorded flawlessly! "Long Road out of Eden".

Also- Glenn Frey singing " It’s your world now" is very uplifting. Even if your not an Eagles fan these two songs are worth checking out.

N

The Babys, Union Jacks, CD- 1980
Featuring John Wait, and Jonathon Cain- also of Journey and Bad English

N

Zebra S/T.
"Tell me what you want" is great.
While "Take your fingers from my hair" was a Zebra original, Dream Theater recorded a cover on their "Black Clouds and Silver Linings" albumn.

The Pretty Reckless, "Take me down".
I like the groove on this track from Taylor. It has a different groove than some of the goth rock. Good backbeat with some strumming guitar and a little keyboard thrown in. Not to mention some sweet backing vocals.

N

Joanne ShawTaylor, Wild
New release for 2016. Has a decent cover of "Summertime" (and the livin's easy).
Second half of the disc is better than the first. "Wanna be my Lover" has some juice.

N
technic,

Big UFO fan here. In fact you'll find a lot of them on this thread.

Just listened to Edgar Winter, They only come out at night.

N
hifiman,

I never had the chance to see Edgar live. You are very fortunate. Oh, and I can't remember hearing a bad version of "Frankenstein"!
"Free ride" is also timeless.

This morning- Black Country Communion, ST. I needed a bit of Glenn Hughes and Bonamossa infusion to get me going this morning!
Also, woke the neighbors with White Stripes, "Ball and Busicut".

N

Genesis, Invisible Touch. (1986)

5 top five singles in the UK. 4 sold out shows at Wembley Stadium to promote the albumn. All of this after the band took a "break" in 1984.
