Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Good call Slaw.
Deceptive Bends...10cc.
My favorite track....feel the benefit!
Acoustic..... Simple Minds.

MQA version on Tidal.
I know there is huge debate and controversy over MQA right now but I know what I hear. The MQA titles I have listened to just have something more to my ears.
Give this one a digital spin, its up there with Nils Lofgren acoustic live in sq.
Last spin of the night

Lap of Luxury..... Cheap Trick

Vastly underated band imho
Rick Nielsen is a superbly accomplished musician all round and I remember seeing him play with his infamous five neck Hamer onstage (before it was stolen)
@reubent
Absolutely love the movie, cant say as ever seriously listened to the soundtrack though
Now of course i have too........
Any movie with James Woods is usually worth watching.
Be time to dig out the bluray and give it a whirl...again
Just returned from the LRS so more goodies to play
First up

Money and Cigarettes...Eric Clapton
@slaw

Have a local record fair here tomorrow as well, just raided the 🏧 ready!

Next up, an oops label
Dog & Butterfly....Heart.
Yea Slaw, some good buys today I think.
Next

Leftoverture.....Kansas

A really well engineered recording imho
Songs in the attic is a great album, gets much playtime at my house.
But mine is regular 33rpm single l.p. variety.
Never heard of the double 45rpm but sounds interesting indeed!
The thirteenth step.... A Perfect Circle

Cannot wait until April for their first new studio album in what 13 years or so!
If their teaser tracks are any indication it should be killer!
Not everyone is going to like Trower, he can be an acquired taste for sure.
Just personal I do prefer Rory Gallagher or Pat Travers but like I said its all up to the individual.
Heart full of sky...Forever Autumn.

A very underrated and overlooked sort of prog rock band from England.
Give em a listen......
Finish the night of with another one of my favorite British bands

Misplaced Childhood...Marillion
Fish....a true character!
Real old school, more Brit invasion...lol.

Technical Ecstasy...Black Sabbath.

They were definitely high on something  when they recorded this!
Just returned from our LRS with a bag full of goodies to try.

First up.

Never let me down.... David Bowie
Never knew these guys collaborated and made an album but had to buy it.
Hsas.... Through The Fire.
Hagar, Schon, Aaronson, Shrieve.

Pretty darned good tbh
Earth...Jefferson Starship.

Grace Slick still one of my fave female singers! She did well to survive San Fran relatively unscathed.
Coldears
I literally wore out a vinyl copy of 2112 in the year  of 77 in our college break room on a cheap player.
We had 3 records on constant repeat that blew our 17 year old minds
2112
Paradise Theater
Destroyer

Great times!
Brickyard Road. ... Johnny Van Zant.

Trivia note for the day

Donnie Van Zandt lives approx 3/4 mile from me....
The Autumn Effect... 10 Years

Hate to say it but I had to spit this out of the OPPO after about 10 minutes as could not stand the sq. Its a great album but the CD mastering is truly god awful!
Pops, I listed my college triage of albums earlier...lol
Glad Starship was on your radar, must look for some more vinyl by them.

Next up southern boogie.

Double Trouble.... Molly Hatchet.
The 1985 original album has 15 tracks, subsequent releases have just 13, and one of the 2 tracks cut is best track on album imho, Walk On The Side Of The Angels.
You could also get this as the b side of a 12 inch single with free bird as the a side....whew!

Jacksonville really spoiled for southern rock with Skynyrd, 38 special, Molly Hatchet etc.
We never had kraftwerk but t.dream and van der Graf generator got their fair playtime.

Tonight...... Chickenfoot.
Too lazy to flip vinyl today....
Just a self created Tidal playlist( yes REALLY lazy!).
Consists of artists like
Avenged Sevenfold
Shinedown
A Perfect Circle
Breaking Benjamin
Stone Broken
Myles Kennedy
Etc, etc.

Hah!
That did not last too long.
Mr Posty just dropped of some eBay vinyl buys so time to spin.

Once upon a time...Simple Minds
Original 1990 Korean pressing of..

Bloodletting... Concrete Blonde.

Not cheap but the sq..........
