Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Now & Zen...... Robert Plant.
Probably the best engineered cassette I own, would love to hear it on vinyl as the tape version is sublime!
@slaw

Sounds like a vinyl purchase is on the cards!

Next up

No more tears....Ozzy.
Now this is a great example of a terrible cassette master! So muffled in the bass, had to switch to Tidal to finish off the album!
Mail lady been and a wholesale lot of 38 cassettes delivered, only 3 duplicates so a good deal.

First up

Shake me up...... Little Feat
The unforgettable fire..... U2.

Off all week so chance to run through my vinyl this week
The long road to eternity..... Magnum.

Still one of my fave British classic rock bands. Bob Cately could really sing in the day, can't quite hit the notes nowadays but still a mighty fine vocalist.
Possibly one of my best vinyl recordings, an excellent Dutch pressing.

Real to Reel... Marillion.
Still nobody quite like Fish........
Eurovision song contest never knew what hit it when ABBA came in with Waterloo!
I even admit to going to see the ABBA movie........
Time travellers and Bonfires..... Sevendust.

Via Tidal through my Vault via 50ft toslink to my second system. Still sounds amazing.
End the night with

August and everything after..... Counting Crows.

Breaking in the new Lyngdorf 2170 quite nicely.....
Sounds like a good one Slaw.

Saw Counting Crows last year in Jax on reunion tour, not quite as good as their heyday but a good evening nonetheless
Start the day off with

Illuminations..... Wishbone Ash.

Off to the lrs later, see what new gems I can obtain
Look at Yourself.... Uriah Heep

MQA remaster via Tidal.

Never heard David's voice sound so good as on this version of July Morning.

Hope 41 minutes is enough....
Real score at my lrs.
The final swing...Trapeze.
Autographed by no less than Glenn himself!!!
Far freaking out..........
@ghosthouse
Of course! Just teasing!
Yea they also had an older trapeze album signed by all the members but that was WAY too spendy for me!

Next lrs purchase

Easter ...... Patti Smith
@ozzy

Moonflower is a double live.
I have it on CD, its also on tidal. I think the sq is pretty good, Slaw says vinyl not so hot.....
@ghosthouse
Right on every count
My early rock band faves were black Sabbath and deep purple.
Then when Ritchie, Ronnie and Cozy et al became Rainbow I followed.
Saw this lineup of rainbow live at bingley hall, Stafford, UK in 76.
@ghosthouse

I did indeed listen to Resonate late last night via Tidal and very impressed.
Steady is a stand out track for more than just the bass work imho.
Heep are an acquired taste for sure, David Byron has, how should we say a unique vocal style.
Standout tracks for me are ones along the lines of Look at Yourself, July Morning,The Magicians Birthday.
Probably try a best of album of Tidal
Easy Livin, yes love the keyboards on that
Ken Hensley is sort of like a cross between Rick Wakeman and John Lord imho, most Heep songs feature some strong keyboards.
Enjoy.......
