Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

More vinyl cleaning.

Talking back to the night....Steve Winwood

Toyko Tapes....The Scorpions

Equinox......Styx

Paradise Theater....Styx
Some great recommendations of music by people here
Always a learning process!
Reanimate 3......Halestorm

Not sure how many are familiar with Mz.Hales bourbon soaked smoky vocals but one of the best rock female singers around...imho of course.
@slaw

Analog Spark will hopefully release some more good stuff.

I have Soup by Blind Melon on their label and was going to buy The Dave Brubeck Quartet from them too.
Unplugged..... Alice In Chains

I have a lot of cassettes and I play back through a Nakamichi582.
Like vinyl quality of recording can be a mixed bag.

This mix on cassette ranks among one of my better cassette recordings.
The vocals and acoustic guitar are real standouts.
Not sure how many others here still play tapes......
@slaw

I have compared the vinyl to tidal streamed version.

The vinyl wins hands down on all fronts.
The soundstage and imaging is much more defined.
Just comparing say drum strikes, the vinyl really sounds like a drum(full and vibrant) whereas the tidal sounds more sterile.
Bass also feels more natural and strives lower imho.
I may have to order that cranberries album from their label too.
Triumph...a true blast from the past there
Took me back to England in the early 80,s and some outdoor festival where OZZY was headlining but this group called Triumph was about 3rd on the stage, never heard of them until then.
WOW indeed
Tear the roof off tonight, and that they did!
@reubent

That is so sad news!
I ordered my copy Sunday, guess I was lucky there
More so than some others like Dolores.

Finally got my vinyl copy of "everybody is doing it" by The Cranberries
Playing on maximum overdrive!
Wow.....no comparison between this Analog Spark pressing and the Tidal streamed version, pity Analog Spark do not have a larger catalogue....yet
Had to give Radio Kaos a spin after the reminder here.
Excellent album and recording and Roger at his best
@nutty
Joe was next up on my playlist!
What happens next and then still one of my fave albums of his, Engines of Creation
Close the night with Retrospective3....Rush.
Been listening to these guys since 74, remember wearing a copy of 2112 out in 76 in the student common room!
I know a lot of love for Glenn Hughes here but top of my mental list when I think bass players comes Geddy Lee, I mean he plays, sings and plays keyboard with his feet !
Alex lifeson also vastly underrated guitarist
Neil peart....what more needs be said about one of the very best drummers in the world
Unleashed Memories...
Dark Adrenaline...........Lacuna Coil.

A not very well known Italian gothic metal band...sounds like they should be awful but the girl can sing like an angel! Their earlier stuff, 2002 to 2008 is their best imho
Our local FYE had a 50% off sale on some select new vinyl today and I could not resist.....

Dark Adrenaline......Lacuna Coil

Mer De Noms........ A Perfect Circle

Very nice mastering job on both albums and 180g to boot
@slaw
The store had all 3 perfect circle lps but I balk at paying $35 per album!
So at half price I did not mind but they now only had mer de noms left.
Can’t wait for their new album as the recent teaser tracks are righteous!
Saw them live last year at Rockville.
CSN......Crosby, Stills and Nash
The Tidal MQA master version.
Stellar, nearly as good as the vinyl pressing and much superior to CD version.
Evaluating a new SR Blue fuse in my system so what else but.....

Crime of the century.....Supertramp

Growing up the hard way.....Mamas Boys
@slaw

Simply amazing what level some of these tweaks can take our systems to.

Just back from our used vinyl shop and a little poorer!

The Wake......IQ
@slaw

Where in the UK are you?
I grew up in Nottingham but moved to the USA in 2000.
And now living the dream....so they tell me.....
@slaw

Too funny!
Sorry!
Well at least you figured I was FROM the UK......lol.
My Corepowertech equicore1800 is being shipped Monday which should take everything to an even higher level.
One of the first power regeneration plants that is actually capable of handling power amps.
Everything will get plugged in, read some of the reviews, I will chime in once I have got it and tested.
Can you play mono vinyl with a regular stereo cart?
Or do you swap carts/arms to play?
@slaw

Quite a number have been waiting patiently for the equicore.....lol.
Just spoke to Mark and its being burned in and prepping for ship.
I am very hopeful it will match the hype.

Ok, so you can play mono on stereo cart and preamp but will just not be as accurate as a dedicated mono setup. That is good to know though.
Thank you
@slaw

Love The Wallflowers, not quite so keen on their newer album, Glad its Over though.
Sort of an uptempo Counting Crows.

Had never heard of Glen Hansard but just had a listen via Tidal and I like what I hear. Thank you
@arcam88.

One thing I have found with all my Wishbone Ash vinyl is that they are really well engineered and mastered. Excellent instrument separation and feeling of air and space.
I remember seeing them in England and it was pretty amusing. There was no build up or announcement, they just sort of shuffled on stage, played a phenomenal set and then shuffled off again.
Too funny.
@czarivey
Lol, you might just be the only one.....
Only song I ever heard was Relax.

Starting my day off right

August &Everything..... Counting Crows
