Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Dido,

Blondie "Maria"

Reubent - Thanks for the well wishes. Same to you and yours. Big fan of
Mahogany Rush! I saw them touring with Pat Travers at Bogart's quite some time ago. Good times.

Let's talk about another blowout concert at Bogart's when I was barely old enough to get in. Wendy O Williams. She chopped off the head of a Madonna mannequin with a chainsaw and set a car on fire all while wearing panties and pasties.

Today I'm sliding through Motley Crue's S/T from 1994. Vince Neil is not featured on vocals. A guy called John Corobi is a nice change of pace. Tommy Lee's drums are mic'd nicely on this one. Highhat is explosive. Hard rock!

Good day all!

The Who, Who's Next - CD

I personally feel that the band as performers were at their individual peaks at this point in their careers. Even though they already recorded Quadrphenia which is one of my top ten favorite concept albums. The albumn art on Who's Next is also a classic!

N
Santana, Shaman - CD
Great supporting cast in this one.
Michelle Branch
Seal
Macy Gray
Dido
Many more...
Highly recommend track 7, "Victory is Won" - instrumental

The Bee Gees, 20th Anniversary Compilation- 2 CD set. Approx. 40 songs. My wife’s newest addition to our collection of music. I never thought that I was a Bee Gees fan until I recently watched a documentary on them. That has changed, or at least my respect for their body of work has. They were largely overlooked however they have made quite a cultural impact on music. Their career began in the mid 1950’s. According to Wikipedia they recorded:

22 studio albumns
2 live albumns
15 compilation albumns
83 singles
4 soundtracks including Saturday Night Fever which was one of the best selling albumns in history.

Oh and don’t forget about Andy Gibb who held 3 positions simultaneously on the American Billboard charts at once and one song being at #1. "I just want to be your everything"

As there writing and touring career slowed and they drifted apart for personal reasons. Then they decided they needed to regroup and get productive so they became song writers. Notably here are some artists and songs that the Gibb brothers wrote. For instance.

They wrote "Grease is the word" for the movie performed by Frankie Valley
They wrote for Otis Redding
The song "Islands in the stream" huge hit that Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton performed
Barbara Streisand’s number one hit "Guilty" and "Woman in Love"
"Emition" by Samantha Sang
"If I can’t have you, I don’t want nobody, baby" performed by Yvonne Elliman
"Heartbreaker" performed by Dion Warwick
"Immortality" performed by Celine Dion

After listening to the new CD I came across two tracks that were recently released written and recorded by the Bee Gees and I really like them. I think you will too if you give them a chance or aren’t familiar with them.. I know that this is a departure from my normal genre but I am very open to all forms of talent. The two tracks are called "This is where I came in" and "Still Waters". I hope you enjoy the music.
