Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

it is pretty darn sweet tbh. Lots of dynamics and no feel of compression or loss of range. Vocals were still standout.

i used a vintage tdk sa tape from the eighties and recorded it n my nakamichi 582 3 head deck.

i plan on doing a lot more......
Boxer.

Of course now I am wondering how good it might sound taped on a good r2r deck.

Which i do not own...
And there are too many for sale on eBay ....

💸💸💸💳💳💳
Human Wheels .... John Mellencamp.

Cassette.

And yes I scored a bunch more new to me tapes at a newly opened local thrift store at a whopping 50 cents a go.
How can I refuse.......

Thats why I have systems set up in three different rooms ... lol
She can’t haunt all of them at the same time.
But I did build her a pretty impressive ht rig so she is quite happy in the theater room.
Of course I made sure my main rig can play louder if need be......
Down Two Then Left ... Boz Scaggs.

Real nice well balanced recording on vinyl.

The node should only index when you ask it too. And you only need do that if you say disconnected the power or lost the internet connection or added a shed load of new music to the library.

I always left my vault powered up and cat7 cable plugged in at all times.

Oh and sometimes after an update you needed to reindex.
Very odd.
My vault would take like 6 minutes max to do a complete Reindex so I honestly never bothered to worry about it.
The only event I know that took hours was the very first time I did a complete backup to an external hdd.

Good to hear, hoping it was just its first time go a round.

Enjoy the music!
Thx Nutty!

I just recorded an album on it from Quboz hires and it sounds REAL good played back so heads are in great shape.

One reason I took a chance, these glassxtal heads in the Akai of that time period are near indestructible!

And it looks ultra cool as it stands on end and looks all the world like a mini R2R player! Fact it would be cool to have an Akai R2R right next to it!

Good times ahead.......
Repeat Offender ... Richard Marx.

Cassette on my new to me Akai GXC-510D deck.

1974 and still has protective plastic on the top of it. Real time capsule. It might even sound just about as sweet as my Nakamichi 582. Not bad for $55!.
Avalon ... Roxy Music.

Quboz.

Even though " only " 16/44 the sq on this album is sublime.
N80

Actualy my most played Traffic album, it’s very accessible.

 Right now .

Eye in the Sky ... The Allan Parsons Project
Bit more mainstream tonight.....

Streetlife Serenader ... Billy Joel.

Surprised nobody appears to have mentioned or possibly even noticed the passing of Bernie Torme on Sunday?

In respect...

Future Shock .... Gillan
Sort of in his sleep.
Had been on life support machine for 4 weeks I believe.
Ordinary Average Guy ... Joe Walsh.

Cassette.

Pretty darn superb SQ, right up there with the best pre recorded tapes I own.
Time for good ol' Southern Boys.

Tour De Force .... 38 Special.

Jacksonville sure was a hotbed for Southern rock bands!

The Van Zants definitely left a huge legacy.

Donnie can be seen pedalling around our neighborhood at times, very down to earth guy, just a regular guy doing the beer and smokes run to the local shop!

He does live in the woods though, meaning his house is surrounded by woods, you would not know he was there unless you knew,  which is how he wants it i guess.
Jafant.

See you are on an Ozzy trip!

Exceedingly good stuff.

Right now.....

Theres The Rub .... Wishbone Ash.

The Queen is dead.   Epic.
The Spell ... Cellar Darling
Quboz hires
A progressive heavy folk rock band!!
From Switzerland......
Worth a listen as Anna Murphy has quite a voice.

IMHO the Nordost digital cables like the Silver Shadow and the Heimdal I upgraded to were very good, much better than their analog interconnects and speaker cables. Not warm but very clean and transparent with a lot of detail retrieval. Enjoy!
btw, Cellar Darling will definitely not appeal to everybody ....lol
